We’ll be sorry for years if we trade the big guy. He’s decent defensively, nobody F’s with him and his right shot is vicious.

I’m not advocating for or against trading Crevier.
Just trying to define the initial, internal circumstance(s) that would even get it to step one of feasibility.
It does not seem like that has even happened yet.

If KK/EDM/Allan burst onto the “NHL Ready” scene, that would be cause for an updated “what if” post.
I don’t think it would be Crevier they part with, unless someone solidly overpays.

    🤘

Centers and right shot defensemen are the most sought after players in the NHL. Murphy’s contract is ending this year, so unless KD gets blown away Crevier is staying put. I know that you weren’t advocating for it, just throwing it out there.

    Good Morning

We’re going to have to wait to see if Frank Nazar is good to go against the Maple Leafs tonight. He’s a game-time decision (before the morning skate), as are Jason Dickinson and Tyler Bertuzzi

    more updates this afternoon.

    Go Blackhawks Go

Hopefully Frankie plays tonight, I’d like to see the Hawks use their speed against the Leafs defense. Glad Burakovsky is back, he seems to have some chemistry with Bedard.

Good read Frenchy but respectfully i believe the hardest part of any rebuild is drafting talented NHL players.

Roster construction is a fair point, like let’s not be the Islanders and draft Schaefer to trade away Dobson? I am so confused by that move.

Anyways for me the fun starts, a skilled faster younger with the compete gene team is matriculating its way onto the ice.

5 years of hoarding the top blue chip prospects in the NHL draft is going to change how teams approach rebuilds.

Actually, if you have a good scouting team it should not be hard to find talent, especially with all the darts the Hawks have had so far. The hard part is coming up, as some of the young Dmen will no longer be waiver exempt. Who does KD keep and who does he move, as you dont want to lose guys like Allan, EDM, KK, and Kaiser to waivers, and I’m not even counting Artie and Rinzel because they’re for sure keeper, unless KD gets blown away. The goalies are next in line and eventually the young forwards. We are about to find out how this all plays out.

    Interesting
    Per Tab Bamford,

I posted about this in the general thread with some info added on timing re: opponent scouting.

Yeah, I probably should have checked the general thread first. That’s a lot of teams scouts/executives, interesting for sure.

Nice write up coach, the kids are alright. Hoping for Green and Levshunov to pot one this week, Love Greene’s game, he does everything right except score at this time.

Levshunov improves every game, his confidence is growing. I would not be surprised if he puts up at least 45 points this year. He still makes a mistake here and there, however the good overcomes those mistakes, can’t wait to see his game in a few months.

Hopefully an exciting game w/ 2 points for the visitors tonight.
I’m out, puck drop is after 10pm here and Wednesday is my long run day.
Will be sawing logs 10 minutes into the first period. Enjoy!

    🤘

These west coast games are a killer, I’m in FL and have 6:45 tee time, maybe one period for me.

Slaggert was sent down to Rockford, so probably 11/7 again.

    Didn’t see that, thanks.
Yeah, the 7D is working, no pressing need to change it.
I still think Arty could use some heavy, unsheltered minutes in RFD, they could award someone else a few games up in CHI.

While i agree with most of your posts MH,I currently have a different opinion on Arty than yours. I see improvement and I see strength, the kid is going to be a beast.

Sure he makes some mistakes, however he needs to play up with the big club and play against NHL speed. In my opinion, if he was to be sent down now he would dominate in the AHL, the kid is strong as a bull. Give him until the 25 game mark, and then maybe you can convince me otherwise. 4-2 Hawks tonight…

    Is Slaggert getting scratched?
Or are we going back to 12/6 for tonight?

Slaggert was sent down to Rockford, so probably 11/7 again. This season is about development and learning how to win, I’m okay with the 11/7 lineup, gives the young defensemen the opportunity to play at the NHL level. If they make a mistake, they can sit for a few shifts and learn from it.

    Slaggert sent down to Rockford.

Honestly it’s probably for the best with how he has played. There is a lot of effort but not much result so far with him. He can get more minutes in the AHL right now and maybe find his next gear.

Slaggert needed to go down as soon as he came back from his injury. I like Slaggert, and maybe there will eventually be a spot for him, but man there’s a lot of talent coming.
