The problem is they need a #1 defenseman. Just getting another top 4 plug-in doesn’t move the needle.
Also need another top 3/4 guy. Does any other team need more than what the flyers need? Goalie, Centers, Dman.

you look how they were constructed. are you that blind to see how those cores was assembled? flyers nowhere close to either team in how they were assembled. you live in fantasyland.
keep signing mid level dreck will keep the flyers exactly where they are.
dont need to look at anything. flyers throughout the orginization are not good in almost every facet. They are poorly run. I have zero faith this group will turn it around.
you can try to be optimistic and spin it anyway. results matter and so far briere has not got any results. he is timid. he overrates his players and prospects. team is in the same spot since he took over. he has no plan who how to build a team.

2 holes filled and where does it get the flyers contention wise? Both are going to want 3/4 year deals easy to play for the flyers. They going to contedn in that window? In the long term what do those signings accomplish? all it does is tie up money to keep spinning on the hamster wheel
Tired of wasting money on mid level guys. if going to over pay get top end at this point. ‘Now top end wont want to come here is the problem without a big overpay. flyers may not have much choice to get ekblad (as an example) for 7 years 9-10 million per.
Why would the Flyers want to sign York to a long term deal?
No one close this coming year and likely next. Which is why you sign him . . . to a bridge deal.

No one close in the next 5 years. They have one D prospect who projects to be an NHL player. One. Outside of Bonk they have nothing but potential bottom pair guys, if they even pan out.
I hope they do get some combination of Soucy, Ceci, and Hague. Would be par for the course.

Ryabkin seems like another Alexei Zherdev situation. Definitely worth the gamble if they keep the EDM pick. Hope they draft another goalie in the 2nd round. Can’t just hope Bjarnasson or Zavargin pan out in a few years.
If Aicheson or Smith starts to fall outidw the top 15, I do think Briere moves up to get 1 of them. Prospect pool for LHD who project as top 4 is slim pickings right now.
outside Bonk they dont have anyone who really projects to be top 4 dman in the NHL. How is that possible seeing how bad they have been for the last 5 years.
If a goalie is there in the 2nd and BPA then take him. otherwise hold off to me until later rounds. goalie you can address in trades/ free agency. flyers track record with goalies is just flat out not good yet they have the same goalie coach for last 10 years.
CC doesn’t care about the cup, if he did he never would have went to ottawa. if CC even thought about wanting to come back that should tell you all you need to know.
