go fyers brick by brick. This team will be nasty to play against if they sneak in the playoffs. That building will be rocking. If you took a poll bet other teams would say the flyers are the one they don’t want to go against.

the pressure then amps up 10 fold on danny boy. as there would be no turning back now. can danny boy deal with that heat.

whether they make the playoffs or not, there is no real path to cup contention nor is there a real long term plan.

20 regulation wins. what a great strategy to employ. team stinks 5 on 5.

really cracks me up anyone thinks this is a good team or well coached. the ceiling for this team is so low. on a road to nowhere.

what will the spin/excuses be from the front office if they miss?

Hypothetically, let’s assume B. Tkachuk and A. Matthews decide they will not extend with their current franchises in a few years. As a Flyers fan, I would be shocked to see them waive to come here. Does the Utah franchise have a better chance then Philly to land them? Probably. On the same level as Vegas, TB, FLA, DAL, CHI, LA, or NYR? Probably not. So I disagree with you it is only cyclical based upon if a franchise is playing competitive hockey. In 5 years, may be my opinion will change.

Players just wanna win, winning solves a lot of issues. Winning starts with drafting well. Typically you have to lose to get good draft position, that’s just how the systems set up. McDavid, Draisaitl, MacKinnon, Barkov, Matthews, Eichel, Heiskanen, Makar, Stutzle, etc. These kids are all top five picks, the Flyers have had one top five pick in the past eight drafts, Cutter Gauthier, who they traded away because he’s a bitch.

damn is that why? flyers really showed him

    Flyers last 13 games
7 OT (2 OTL, 1 OTL win, 4 Shoot outs)

In the last 10 games the Flyers have less than 20 SOG 4 times.
In the last 10 games the Flyers opponents have had 23+ SOG 10 times.

The Flyers have 3 regulation wins since 1/23/26. 2 of them were against the capitals.

In 9 overtime games in 2026 the Flyers have scored 1 goal (Michkov). In 23 OT this season the Flyers have scored 3 goals. Michkov is tied for the lead despite not being out for OT for the first 18 games.

If Vladar plays well and keeps this a low scoring game, I’d say the odds are pretty good that the game goes to OT and the shootout. The odds are if anything else happens they will lose.

But but if the flyers were in the west conference they would be a playoff team

Can’t wait to hear that the rest of the way by Doucher and JJ

I do agree this no longer a destination franchise. Having players waive NMC to come here is going to be unlikely. The few times an elite talent becomes available without a NMC (ie Quinn Hughes), the organization cannot just say “oh well, we got outbid”. Since free agency is not an option and the current regime has no interest in team stripping to get close to top 5 for the next couple of drafts, the only way forward is more Zegras and Jiricek trades. Players who have not lived up to their pre draft hype. That’s why the team has to be willing to move Tippett and/or Foerster this summer. See if they can get Berniers out of SEA. Another organization going no where with a high draft pick who has not lived up to his hype on a long-term contract. Notice he does not have a NMC clause. The regime will need some luck and a HC to maximize the skill of Michkov and Martone. I’m not sure which is more likely- getting the luck needed to win big in Zegras type trades or the current HC who can maximize his players’ performance.

Every franchise goes through the process of being a “non destination franchise”, very few franchises stay competitive for more than a decade or so before they start to decline. As a general rule of thumb. Look at the Coyotes/Mammoth, we sucked in Arizona for how long? 20 years? Until we hired a GM, Bill Armstrong in Sept 2020, who was committed to properly rebuild, with the blessing of ownership, Arizona was a no-go destination. Now we have some good young players and a new owner who’s committed to winning. Right now you’re in the John Chayka phase, eventually you’ll get to the point where Briere is gone and ownership submits to a proper rebuild, although, you’re already set up pretty good with picks for 2026 and 2027 where you have two 1st’s and two 3rd’s.

there has been a decade+ of incompetency. That isn’t changing any time soon.

when you waster 1st rd picks on jett and nesbitt doesnt matter how many 1st you have

how can any person have any faith in tocchet is baffling. returning players have regressed.

agree with pretty much the rest.

zegras has a nice bounce back season no doubt. that being said he has cooled off a lot since the new year. will be interesting to see what type of contract he wants/ends up signing. Is he a guy you commit 8 years to? I am sure the flyers think so.

with the way the flyers draft their best bet is a trade. though danny refuses to move off is “guys”. severely overrates them and places way too high a value.

I love how Jason mentions trading for Thomas and Matthews. Why the fuck on earth would either one give any consideration to play for the FLyers when they control where they can play.

Such a shame how dumb flyers fans really are. Flyers are not a destination. The sports landscape has changed. my bad they have tocchet to convince these guys.,

are they on the outside looking in? yes or no?

nothing but excuses that every team can apply in some form.

They are in a playoff race. They need to gain ground fast.

What excuses? Said before the season I expected improvement and they might make the playoffs if they got some breaks. They’d be in a playoff spot right now if they were in the west. They have a better win pct. than SEA and Utah.

cant even answer a simple yes or no question.

in a playoff race wow. so is every other team except the rangers. what an accomplishment. the good le if they were in the west conf they would be a playoff team.

flyers fans by far the dumbest in sports.

You really buy into the flyers bullshit. 3 new pieces having career years and the flyers still on the outside looking in. All 3 new pieces have come back down to earth by the way. I am sure they will continue their trajectory upwards. Never mind the regression of the internal pieces.

Let me know when David is playing every game next year on the blue line. Dumb dumb danny has had 3 years to get a better goalie than Sam. He hasn’t. Sam will be back if danny has a say, it will depend on what Tocchet wants.

On the outside looking in? Barely. Looking back on the season, a lot of points and games pissed away. A 1-3 record against the last in the conference Rags? Terrible. The 2-8-4 stretch killed their season. Ersson decided to regress this year. You can’t say they didn’t give him a fair shot. It’s a lock they’ll upgrade the 2G slot. They can’t do worse.

what has danny done to give you any confidence this team will get to the path of cup contention?

Big improvement over last year, good young pieces that will play here next year (Martone, Jiricek), a new 2G. A good unforeseen trade or UFA signing would add to that. The three top acquisitions last season are having career years. This is not complicated.

    “big” I tell yay

Improvement over a year ago is because of the goalie (one who has put up his career averages the last 15 games save % wise). What is it you say, it’s not complicated. This said improvement is not really any real improvement that is going to make any diff going forward.

Mission Critical should be drafting as high as possible.

Bettman instituted the current OT/shoot out rules to keep teams that would normally be eliminated by February in the playoff hunt to keep asses in the seats. Gate revenue is king in the NHL. The Flyers are one of those teams that benefits the most from that. Some of the most boring low event hockey in the league. Another under 20 SOG game. Nobody has gone to the shoot out more than the Flyers

    2025
    SOW..SOL…G…..GA….DIFF..PP%…PK%…S/GP..S%…SA/GP..SV%
    1st..18th..24th..28th..29th..30th..20th..26th..17th..25th..32nd

    2026
    SOW..SOL…G…..GA….DIFF..PP%…PK%…S/GP..S%…SA/GP..SV%
    1st..20th..26th..15th..20th..32nd..21st..30th..17th..29th..25th

The Flyers are a worse team by almost every metric other than SV% and while it is nice to see that improve it is almost solely due to Vladar’s career year and not sustainable. SOG fell to 30th, SOG/against fell to 29th. PP is back to last in the league, where it belongs. Other than giving up fewer goals this team has regressed almost across the board with Shoot Out wins the only thing giving Tocchet truthers any hope.

A competent front office would not be in this situation year after year. How many NHL hall of shame records have been set under Fletcher and now Briere? The Front office whose only plan was to buy elite talent in FA this year which has already admittedly failed.

I thought it couldn’t get worse than Torts, be careful what you wish for. Even Tocchet’s press conferences sound incomprehensible half the time.

no worries as flyer frank said they are improving. just 3 years away from 3 years away

In last 11, Flyers are 7-3-1. .682 hockey. That continued pace will get them to 96 points, maybe enough to make the playoffs.

go flyers. on the path to the cup

Your analysis ends in grade school and anyone who completed above elementary would understand the fallacy. 2 years ago the Flyers were on pace on pace for 92 points after 72 games before collapsing down the stretch, which was an improvement over the 75 point finish the year before. Sound familiar? Yet they finished with 87 and went right back to mid 70s this past year. Why?

The 87 points in 23-24 was a mirage. Also, who gives a shit? Feel free to live in the past. Are you predicting they’re going back to the mid-70s in points next year? They were a bad team last year with some good players and they’re a better team this year with some good players plus three upgrades. Overcomplicating things like a delusional mental patient is not good analysis.

what has danny done to give you any confidence this team will get to the path of cup contention?

How do you fall to 30th in SOG (29th in Shots against) and think the team is headed in the right direction?

Because last year this team had 76 points, this year they’re on pace for 92. Sixteen point improvement. Last year they gave up 286 goals, 3.49 per game. this year 3.01. About a half goal a game. This is not complicated when you understand grade school math.

being propped up by a goalie having a career year. this is the only reason for the “improvement”. Sad gullible flyers fans like yourself are s blind and eat up the flyers propaganda.

love pace. Let me know what the finish with. This team has bigger holes than your wife’s gap. Peeps thinking this team is headed in the right direction is pure entertainment./
