lets break it down dip shit.

    1. he gets credit for those deals 100%. still doesn’t mean he isnt a putz. lets see where all 3 are by years end. Cant wait for that dvorak ext. Then add tocchet lol. flyers fans are the best. all giddy over a guy with an under .500 coaching record. like he is going to lead them anywhere

Tocchet has a .609 win percentage over the last four seasons. Not complicated.

    2. as I said dont see much of a difference and the results and on ice playback that up. please elaborate otherwsie.

They took care of business against weak sisters SJ and BUF but lost once in reg and twice in OT against COL, Vegas and CAR at home. Again, simple.

    3. of course they dont have a dman like buium. a guy you have talked shit on all year. now he is hughes lite.

I talked shit about him? Said he was a fine prospect but needs a ton of work defensively. VAN is tanking, so they won’t care any time soon.

    4. worst team with hughes. what is your point as would love to hear it.

    5. vancouver is not rebuilding. they are doing their version of a flyers rebuild. which will fail, like the flyers “rebuild”. 2 shit organizations with a lot in common.

Check the standings. They’re the worst team in the league and the Flyers are in a playoff spot. The two teams are nothing alike. This is so simple, a small child would understand it.

    6. yes it does hamper the return if that is what your dead set on acquiring. how can you say otherwise. common send and business 101. its like not drafting the BPA

    7. yes they got what they wanted. doesnt mean there wasn’t better packages out there.

    8. yes they could have offered better. Seeing what vancouver received. Do you think MM was a better piece over rossi or buium?

Name one better package that was out there. Do you think the Rags offered Gabe Perrault straight up for Hughes? I’m impressed you can count to eight. What’s it like being the stupidest idiot in any room you enter?

    . .
you calling anyone an idiot is pure entertainment. you are nothing but a homer suck flyers ass fan. not a hockey fan as you don’t know much. you eat their shit and like it.

    – tocchet, like I said, is a losing coach. his record proves that.

    – since you have comprehension issues I will say it again. There hasn’t been much diff with the forest or york out of the lineup. as you said again simple.

    – yes you talked shit. is the jett still a better prospect in your eyes over buium?

    – comprehension again. I said the 2 orginization were shit organizations. that’s a fact. you fluffing your feathers saying the flyers are in a playoff spot and vancouver isn’t doesn’t change that one iota dipshit.

    – I dont kow what packages were offered nor did I imply I did. What I simply stated was what they accepted doesn’t mean that was the best offer. that comprehension thing again. Was MM a better piece than rossi or buium? no idea what perrault has to do with the conversation, though logic would tell me if vancouver wanted him the rangers would have no issue sending him packing.

at the end of the day your just a dumb fuck flyers fan who really believes this team is on the path to cup contention. Brick b brick. go flyers.

why would they look to trade tippet. damn I cant think of one reason. he is a core player and valuable piece going forward towards winning a cup. what was I thinking.

I dont see much of a diff without york or the forest at this time at all. They do have pieces to make a deal for a top end player; if they become available. you just have to want to part with said pieces. its gonna hurt. I just dont think the putz GM has the nerve to make such a deal.

Vancouver wanting a center only would have hampered their return. any non idiot would see that. dumb way to go about business; though it is vancouver and they are poorly run. I would have offered MM to start then go from there. now buium is hughes lite. love it. guess your mind has changed on him big time. Are you saying the flyers have no one on D or in the system to compare to Buium?

The putz GM’s three big off-season player acquisitions are all having career years so far. Then add Tocchet. Hahaha!

Don’t see a difference? Thanks for telling us all you don’t know what you’re looking at. No, the Flyers clearly don’t have a young Dman with Buium’s one way upside. His defense? VAN was the worst team in the league with Hughes. They’re rebuilding now. Their window closed fast, as some of them do. MM for JH? Gone where from there? As usual, you have nothing. Vancouver wanting a center did not hamper their return. They got what they wanted. Of course, you keep babbling about how bad the Flyers are yet are now claiming they had the pieces to best MIN’s offer. Peak snowy day comedy.

Hughes, although a fantastic player, isn’t what the Flyers need right now. They need to keep drafting, developing and building from within, now’s not “go time” as Hexy once said, in terms of adding pieces to the roster via trade.

the flyers version of the “rebuild” is over. add time

Not exactly a high-event game yesterday but they managed to scratch out another point, still in a WC position. Scoring is a real issue for the team, they’re the second lowest scoring team in the Easter Conference, they badly need to draft and develop some high-end offensively skilled players. Specifically at center!!

they are adverse to that, when you look at who they draft. They do not draft those high end types. need those flyer 200 ft players. that is how you win in this league. depth

It does make me wonder if the Flyers have the assets to really compete to trade for the few times an elite talent under 30 becomes available. The far more likely situation seem to be a Zegras situations become available and hope Briere can hit. Young, underachievers relative to their draft status seems to be the menu. Right now, Flyers will probably be shopping in the Owen Power and Brad Lambert profile aisles. If this is the case, Martone and Michkov need to turn out to be elite wingers. Going to be a real kick in the groin if Briere extends a 30 year old Dvorak coming off a career year to start “we’re ready to compete in Summer ’26”. We’ll see what happens, but with the cap significantly increasing over the next few years, the very few times a Hughes type player becomes available for trade, there will be a significant increase amount of suitors to compete against then when the cap was relatively flat.

They clearly don’t NOW. MIN was in a unique position and they took advantage. They upgraded their D slot a ton with Hughes over Buium, Ohgren has a ways to go, they opened a hole at center but there was apparently some friction with Rossi, plus the pick and that package checked every box for VAN. I wouldn’t wring my hands over it. They seem to like Byram from BUF but GM Adams job looks tenuous. Lambert isn’t an answer. He’s regressed badly now into his 3rd pro year, he’s not short but he’s slight, D is an issue. Don’t need to see any moves any time soon. If they fall out of the race, which looks increasingly unlikely, they can still dump. If not, they can add but impossible to tell right now what they might need. Injury dependent.

These type of elite players with any term left on their contract are extremely rare. They certainly do not happen every year. Eichel being traded from BUF and Karlsson from OTT come to mind. So if trades for elite talents are so rare, other then getting lucky in the draft trying to trade for high ceiling, low floor guys like Zegras will be the way forward. If Martone and Michkov are off the table, then sure looks like trading for an elite talent will not be available. Look maybe BUF might be stupid enough to someday trade Thompson or Dahlin for something less. Who knows. More likely, a better shot to trade for Byram, Power, or even Rasmus Andersson. Seems like the entire league is looking for centers, not sure there is anyway to even trade for one unless a massive overpay for a player over 30. UFA market this summer at center is pretty much Dvorak, Coyle, and Wennberg, not great.

There is an abundance of forwards currently on the roster who would be ideally slotted on a third line if they were a cup contender. Here’s my list- Cates, Dvorak, Couts, Brink, Grebenkin, and Tippett. Would not even mind players like Couts and Grebenkin sliding down to 4th line and really be able to roll 4 good lines. I would assume if this season is about “being in the mix for playoffs”, next season should be in the playoffs, no excuses. Seems logical.

not about being in the mix at all. it is playoffs 100%. that has always been the goal. Cant wait until spring to see where they end up.

The issue with a big package going the other way in a trade is I disagree about any great abundance for the Flyers anywhere, at least at the moment, and certainly at center and D. I think the roster looks pretty good and the Flyers, to me, look like a solid level just below elite team . . . when they’re healthy. That’s a pretty dodgy proposition. Having said all that, I think the Flyers will hold on and make the playoffs this year, just that they’re a year or two away from being able to put together an offer some team that needs to deal an elite center or Dman can’t refuse.

then your fn blind. we clearly musty watch diff games.

one thing will hold that up, danny boy loves his roster. he is torn on whether to trade owen fucking tippet. shot cates is probably untouchable. let that sink in. again its rare those types become available.

would love to know what he offered for hughes; if anything. IMO unless Vancouver was dead on a center, flyers could have beat that package.

nah called facts. just look at tocchets coaching record.

flyers being so bad for so long they get excited at the wind blowing, I guess.

how those 4 players making out since that outlier year?

.621 hockey propped up b shootout wins. brick by brick

Bad takes are not facts. Hahahaha. Look at VAN’s record without Tocchet, it’s .403! Look at the .621 win pct with him here. That record is “propped up” by the rules of the game during the regular season. Same rules for everybody, only two teams in the entire east have better records. Those are actual facts.

what was tocchet record in his last season in vancouver? before he quit.

looks like another coach of year award for the below .500 career of one rick tocchet. one more than bill barber.

it is propped up. cant wait until april.

    called an outlier.

Tocchet hasn’t limited Dvorak or Zegras, wasn’t limiting Foerster and hasn’t limited a team that is playing .621 hockey. It’s called blogger bullshit.

Tocchet has only won one playoff series as a bench boss across nine seasons (excluding this one): with the Vancouver Canucks in 2024. That team, mind you, had a 103-point center, an 89-point center, a Norris Trophy-winning defenseman, and a Vezina Trophy finalist between the pipes. There’s an argument to be made that his system limits ceilings.

I understand a lot of people want to write about hockey but if Tocchet’s systems limit ceilings, how did all that happen in Vancouver?

    called an outlier.

what’s interesting to me is the 3 players responsible for the season so far are external players. is that a good thing? not seeing much progression from the internal players from last year.

MM will be traded. I have no doubt at all. Whether the deadline (as part of a hughes deal) or the summer is the question to me.

God forbid they sell high on Dvorak and get a 1st.

what kind of deal do you give dvorak? he is having a career year. always been a low to mid 30 guy.

Dvorak also never had a linemate like Zegras, which is a lot of that. So, GMs are going to figure he’s a .5 PPG guy at best and does the faceoffs and D things well for THEIR team. That does have real value. You also have to figure Coots will sag out of the top 9 eventually. Jett can’t be counted on as Top 9 next year and Nesbitt is a ways away. Certainly, I’m offering 3 years at the same price, maybe a bit more. He could also be traded for future assets if the Flyers fall apart, which looks unlikely for now. I’m terrible at projecting contracts though.

With the shortage of centers league wide why would he want that deal? Would be wise to test the market as his last pay day. There should be no rush at all to re-sign him.
Personally, I hope they do re-sign him and overpay.

The plan all along was to re-sign him when he signed his current deal.

Christian Dvorak . . . does a lot of things well on both sides of the puck and he’s developed pretty strong chemistry with Zegras in particular.
Emil Andrae had a rough night with the puck on his stick.
The Flyers either over-passed or missed the net on some of their better scoring chances.

Dvorak has been a real revelation. They should try to reup him. He does so many things well that you don’t expect a younger developing player to do well that I think he’s a must re-sign.

Andrea also let Vegas step inside him to the mid-ice lane and make plays at the net a couple times in the 1st. Cost them the first goal. On the other hand, Theodore and McNabb had tough nights and were both -2. Which one of them left Zegras wide open for his goal? I’ve seen them play a lot better.

The over-passing has been an intermittent issue. Saw Tippett pass on a prime scoring chance and Taco mentioned Sanheim did the same thing.

he isnt a young developing player. he will be 30 years old.
