With NHL training camps just over six weeks away, many unrestricted free agents remain unsigned. Hockey Hot Stove takes a peek at a dozen UFAs still seeking deals.

Connor Ingram – Goalie

32 GMS 16-10-3 2 SO 2.60 GAA .899 SV PCT

Ingram bet on himself last season and succeeded. After being unloaded by the Utah Mammoth, Ingram won the Edmonton Oilers starting job down the stretch and was their playoff starter. Somehow Ingram missed out on July 1st’s goalie carousel, despite being one of the best netminders available.

MIchael Bunting – Left Wing

74 GMS 14 G 19 A 33 PTS 20 PIMS

A pesky forward, Bunting was dealt by Nashville to the Dallas Stars at the trade deadline. The Stars marked Bunting’s fourth team in only three years since inking his previous three-year, $13.5 million contract. That being said, the 30-year old can still fill a bottom six role.

Eeli Tolvanen – Right Wing

78 GMS 12 G 24 A 36 PTS 30 PIMS

One season removed from notching 23 goals with the Kraken, Tolvanen is a buy-low candidate in the hope that he can produce in key situations. There’s little doubt the left-shot right wing is an NHL player, but he hasn’t fulfilled expectations after being a Predators first round selection in 2017.

Vladimir Tarasenko – Right Wing

75 GMS 23 G 24 A 47 PTS 18 PIMS

While he’s far removed from scoring 30 goals per season, at 35-years-old, Tarasenko still has some game. The right wing tallied 23 for the Wild in 2025-26, adding another five points in 11 postseason games.

Evander Kane – Left Wing

71 GMS 13 G 18 A 31 PTS 92 PIMS

Like a majority of his Canucks teammates, Kane’s production dropped last season. However, he remains an in-your-face forward who’s capable of playing on a team’s third line and secondary power play unit.

Patrik Laine – Left Wing

5 GMS 0 G 1A 1 PT 2 PIMS

Limited to only to five games last season mainly due to a core muscle injury, Laine’s has now missed 224 games over a five-year period. As training camp gets closer, expect a club to roll the dice on a pure scorer on a low-risk contract.

Luke Glendening – Center/Right Wing

70 GMS 2 G 7 A 9 PTS 8 PIMS

At 37-years-old, Glendening can still help out a team seeking shutdown fourth line assistance.

James van Riemsdyk – Left Wing

72 GMS 15 G 16 A 31 PTS 14 PIMS

Another 37-year-old, van Riemsdyk remains a consistent 30-plus point performer who can still play a bottom six forward role for a team seeking veteran leadership.

John Klingberg – Right Defense

56 GMS 10 G 17 A 27 PTS 24 PIMS

Due to hamstring injury, Klingberg was limited to 56 games this past season for San Jose. However, that’s far better than his previous two NHL campaigns where he appeared in only 25 games due to hip issues. Last season was a bounce-back of sorts for the offensive d-man who saw 20:28 of ice time per game.

Logan Stanley – Left Defense

76 GMS 9 G 17 A 26 PTS 128 PIMS

At six-seven, 231 pounds, Stanley is a physical specimen who plays a nasty game on the ice. Dealt by Winnipeg to Buffalo at the trade deadline, Stanley registered his best offensive production of his career. At this point of the offseason, it remains puzzling how he’s still unsogned.

Carson Soucy – Left Defense

76 GMS 5 G 7 A 12 PTS 38 PIMS

Acquired by the Islanders from the Rangers in late-January, Soucy was involved in only the fourth transaction between the two New York clubs in 44 years. The left-shot defenseman is a capable third-pair for any team or one who’s seeking a depth defender.

Nick Blankenburg – Right Defense

61 GMS 8 G 16 A 24 PTS 10 PIMS

Dealt by Nashvile to Colorado to finish out the season, Blankenburg appeared in five playoff games for the Avalanche. Similar to Soucy, Blankenburg is a capable third-pair blueliner for a team seeking depth, but from the right side.
