Just three New York Rangers prospects in action on Sunday with no goals but four assists for the prospects. Center Raoul Boilard led the way with three assists in a losing effort as his Shawinigan Cataractes dropped an 8-5 decision to the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada in QMJHL play.
Boilard got his name on the scoresheet with a secondary assist on the Cataractes second goal of the game, an even-strength goal coming at 13:44 of the first period which tied the game up at 2-2. With his team trailing 4-2, Boilard’s second assist was also a secondary one, this one came on the power play at 9:52 of the second period as it brought the Cataractes to within one goal at 4-3.

In the third period with the score even at 4-4, Boilard’s third assist was a primary one as he set up teammate Félix Lacerte for the Cataractes fifth goal, a power play goal at 10:21 of the period and the only time that they led in the game at 5-4. For Boilard, this was a record setting performance as he recorded three points in a game for the sixth time in his QMJHL career (second time this season), he set a new career high for most assists in a single game.
His stat line for the game was 0-3-3 on zero shots with a -1, a cross-checking minor, credited with one hit and he was 7-6 on his faceoffs. For the season, Boilard is 2-4-6 in nine games.
Nathan Aspinall had a primary assist as his Flint Firebirds took the second half of their rivalry week match up 4-3 shootout win over the Saginaw Spirit in OHL play. The assist which came on Flint’s third goal of the game also extends his scoring streak to six games as the leading scorer among Ranger prospects is now 6-4-10 for the season.
The Firebirds extended their winning streak to four games as they improve to 5-3-1 on the season. The return of Aspinall to their lineup has been a huge difference maker.
Defenseman Evan Passmore was scoreless as his Barrie Colts lost to the North Bay Battalion 3-2 via the shootout. The Rangers 2025 sixth-round pick is scoreless in eleven games.
