Star Gazing: Dallas Vets Spur Victory over the Wild

On Hispanic Heritage Night at American Airlines Center, the Dallas Stars skated to a 3-2 overtime win against the Minnesota Wild. Glen Gulutzan’s squad improved to 2-0-0 in the preseason.

At this point of the preseason. most teams sprinkle their lineup heavily with bubble players, junior prospects and AHL veterans. However, on Tuesday, the Stars were led by a batch of their top NHL regular forwards.

Tyler Seguin netted the winner in sudden death off a Miro Heiskanen setup. Jason Robertson netted a goal and an assist. Meanwhile, Mikko Rantanen opened the scoring for Dallas. Additionally, the Stars dressed the likes of captain Jamie Benn, Matt Duchene, Thomas Harley and starting goalie Jake Oettinger. Dallas didn’t have a full array of regulars, of course. Nevertheless, it was a reasonable facsimile of the NHL squad.

Correspondingly, the Stars generated a 37-21 shots on goal advantage. It would have be a surprise if that were not the case. Oettinger went the distance in net for Dallas.

Up next for the Stars: A rematch with the WIld. The scene shifts to St. Paul. John Hynes’ team will try to return the favor from Tuesday night.

Bill – Can you look into Black Francis on the Flyers Forum – he is starting the same crap that went on at hockeybuzz. Id hate to see your operation to go in that direction — there is no need to question ones intelligence in a hockey board post

Thank you for your attention to this matter

I don’t have much available time to moderate the boards. We need a moderation team. Unfortunately, we can only do it on a volunteer basis. If something is too far out of hand — threats, NSFW posting, etc. — Mike or I can step in and sideline someone. For now, the best we can do is tell people to behave like rational grownups and, in the meantime, ask for volunteer mods.
