The Mammoth Prepare for Their Home Opener

The Utah Mammoth are preparing for the first home opener under their new moniker. They will host the Calgary Flames on Wednesday, October 15th. It will be an exciting chapter in the franchise’s history.

Through the first three games of the season, the Mammoth and Flames have a 1-2-0 record for two points. Both teams are sitting in last place within their divisions. However, the Flames are hosting the Vegas Golden Knights on Tuesday night. Hopefully, Clayton Keller and company can catch a tired Flames team in the second half of a back-to-back.

Starting the NHL regular season with a three-game road trip is not ideal, but the Mammoth made the most of it. They lost the season opener 2-1 to the Colorado Avalanche. The team looked a bit sloppy in that contest. Game two was a prehistoric matchup against the Nashville Predators. Karel Vejmelka helped the Mammoth to a win in his 200th NHL game. They finished the road trip on Monday with a loss to the Chicago Blackhawks.

Utah Mammoth Home Opener Celebrations

On October 8th, the Utah Mammoth announced plans to invite fans and the local community to a free home opener celebration presented by SeatGeek, which is open to the public. The event will take place outside of the Delta Center. Fans can expect live entertainment, fan activities, giveaways, and a beer garden. The festivities culminate with the players making their grand entrance through the crowd, greeting fans as they walk along the iconic Mountain Blue carpet into the Delta Center.

The fan festivities will kick off at 4 pm with live music. Exclusive Mammoth merchandise and apparel will be for sale at multiple locations. At 4:30 pm, the players will begin to arrive at the plaza for their gameday walk-in on the Mountain Blue carpet. Once the doors open at 6 pm, fans attending the game can expect to be treated to additional special activities throughout the evening inside the Delta Center.
