Mammoth 2025-26 Schedule: What You Need to Know

The NHL released the regular season schedule for the 2025-26 season on Wednesday, July 16th. For Utah, it will be their first season as the Utah Mammoth after using the Utah Hockey Club name last season.

Before looking at specific dates in the schedule, I wanted to point out a few things. The Mammoth will have its longest homestead from January 7th to January 21st, with seven games. As for the longest road trip, that will be six games from November 28th to December 6th. Another interesting thing from the 2025-26 schedule is that due to the Olympics in February, the Mammoth will only play four games that month, and they’re all at home.

The first game of the season will be on the road in Colorado against the Avalanche. With the recent move to Utah, the rivalry between these two teams is now known as the Rocky Mountain Rivalry. The Mammoth will be in Colorado on October 9th and December 23rd. Meanwhile, the Mammoth will host the Avalanche on October 21st and February 25th.

Key Dates in Mammoth Schedule

The first key date to mark on your calendar is the Mammoth’s home opener on October 15th in the newly renovated Delta Center. It will be the fourth game of the season for the Mammoth, but the Delta Center should be a packed house as the Mammoth host the Calgary Flames. The home opener also kicks off a four-game homestand for the team.

On November 12th, the Mammoth will be hosting the Buffalo Sabres, so fans can expect to see some familiar faces. Defenseman Michael Kesselring and forward Josh Doan will return to Utah for the first time since being traded to the Sabres for JJ Peterka in June.

The defending Stanley Cup Champions will be in town on December 10th. It will be an important game for two of the Mammoth’s newest players, Nate Schmidt and Vitek Vanecek. Both were members of the Florida Panthers last season during the Panthers’ championship run. One of the reasons for bringing those two players to Utah was their playoff experience.

Another familiar face will return to Utah on January 13th when the Mammoth host the Toronto Maple Leafs. Matias Maccelli was traded to the Maple Leafs in June for a conditional third-round draft pick in 2027, which will convert to a second-round draft pick in 2029 if Maccelli records at least 51 points in the 2025-26 NHL season.

On March 26th, the Mammoth will host the Great 8, Alexander Ovechkin, in what will be his last NHL regular season game in Utah. It will be his first visit since breaking the league’s scoring record on April 6th, 2025. I’m sure every team in the league will have something special for Ovechkin as he makes his last appearances in each city. I’m sure Mammoth GM Bill Armstrong has something planned.

The Mammoth will finish the 2025-26 regular season at home against one of their divisional rivals, the St. Louis Blues, on April 16th. This game could have playoff implications for both teams. Regardless of the standings, hopefully, the Mammoth faithful will pack the Delta Center for the final game of the regular season.
