Quick Hits: Bring Back Giroux?

I may be totally wrong here, but there seems to be an interesting dynamic to this discussion. Be it here, HB, or X, it seems like those who are receptive to a Giroux reunion are younger fans… guys who really have never seen this team have sustained success (and the stuff I’ve read from Jamie Baskow over the years leads me to believe he’s in this category – and this isn’t a knock against him, just that he has a far different view of this franchise than I do). While Giroux could help in the areas mentioned, it’s not a long-term fix, which is what a team that claims they’re rebuilding should be looking for.

I’ll pose a question to everyone here on the board (because I’m really interested to see the variety of answers)… when someone says “The Flyers Way,” what do you immediately think of?

I can’t imagine why Giroux would want to come back to a team that has no realistic cup aspirations for what will prove to me the rest of his career. Same goes for Marner, Ekblad, or anyone else who is in the “win now or never” portion of their careers. You also don’t want to overpay for Sam Bennett.

Sadly, that’s what it’s become. I’ve always thought the Flyers way was a mix of hard-nosed play and skill, and the Flyers really haven’t had that in quite a while now.
