Metalhead
Participantonce they go to 12-6 again, they won’t be able to shield mins for Arty
Arty should be down in RFD, playing top pair and even some PK to learn how to stay calm in his own end.
Send up whoever has played well enough to earn a stint in CHI.
Then they can send Arty back up again, or rotate KK, Allan, EDM, and Arty.
One of them might show he is ready to stay up.
If not, you get better, updated NHL level feedback on what they need to work on.
With Arty, it’s already clear. He’s a disaster in his own end.October 29, 2025 at 10:10 am #45880Metalhead
ParticipantPure Evil sniping by Bedard last night.
Hawks on pace for 98 points.
Bedard is also on pace for 98 points.Yeah, that should have been offside.
However, when assessing the team and how it is progressing, it was horrific that they allowed an opponent to get loose like that.
A 4-0 lead had quickly dropped to 4-2, no excuse for a guy getting behind the entire team.
No matter if offside was called, or if Knight had made a great save, the mistake was glaring and should never have happened. It’s amazing how bad these 2nd periods have been.
The team was much more poised and mature in the 3rd period, like they flipped a switch.October 29, 2025 at 9:48 am #45876Assman22
ParticipantRinzel deserves so much credit too as a guy in his first real season playing the role he does on the top pair. Vlasic and Rinzel have been facing the other team’s top players (the numbers strongly back this up) and they’ve been a generally solid pair. They might become a pair that teams around the league hate to go up against.
Agreed but Rinzel has been getting beat up lately and no one came to his aid last night in the 1st with that late hit behind the net. He’s already sporting a black eye as well. At what point does Kyle go out and bring someone in to protect his investments? Bring up EDM? And once they go to 12-6 again, they won’t be able to shield mins for Arty and our newest “3-wheeled shopping cart” Murphy.

ParticipantJust wanted to add, the thing I liked tonight, it was better management of the puck to me. Lots of small space passes to players and more poise with the puck on the stick tonight as a group. I didn’t think that after 10 games we’d have 33 goals for and only 25 against for +8. The team hasn’t had to trail very often usually had the lead or tied. Actually approaching the middle of the pack for shots against per game now, they’ve brought that average down under 30. -4.9 shot differential per game right now, which is still not great but this is where the small things get important. Win a couple more shifts a game, and suddenly that differential will start to even out. That might come from more guys selling out to block shots, getting more sticks in lanes, winning more draws or improving the cycle on the attack to get more offensive pressure as examples.

ParticipantWhoever said that wasn’t offside in the Toronto office should be fired. He did not maintain possession of the puck. This is why the NHL will always be considered a minor league to all of the major sports. I really lose it when I see crap like that. I also got what I have been waiting for all year. Bertuzzi explodes. That’s the guy I wanted to sign! Bedard had a hell of a game, but as usual, the refs were looking the other way when it came to penalizing Ottawa. I counted four penalties before the first one was called. Except for a three minute period, they executed well. Good for the boys!

ParticipantIt’s great to hear that the baby Hawks played really well today. It sounded like they really struggled against the eagles but then bounced back the next night to shut them out 4-0.
I was really hoping to see the ice hogs play like this with a bunch of KD picks from 2022 and 2023 on the roster.

ParticipantAnyone watching the Hogs vs Wolves right now? 6-1 Hogs and Lardis on hat trick watch. Just had 5 misconducts handed out (3 Wolves, 2 Hogs). Newly drafted Russian Ryabkin seems to have a short fuse. He has 28 PIM in 5 games but 14 PIM in the first game of the season vs Iowa and 12 PIM today. Welcome to North American hockey!

ParticipantI came across and interesting quote on Twitter. Some praise for Lardis on his game away from the puck.
@Chi_Prospects
Here’s a quote from #IceHogs HC Jared Nightingale on Nick Lardis last week:
“Before he started putting points up his play away from the puck and defensive game. He scored 70 goals in junior but his care and hockey IQ away from the puck…”“I think that’s what really got his game going these first five games. It’s awesome to see him get rewarded. When the puck is on his stick he’s a threat, but for his youth and inexperience at the pro level to pick up our defensive habits was really impressive.”

ParticipantEarly in the 2nd period, in a late morning game, Rockford leads Chicago 6-0. Moore 1 G, Lardis 2 G, Savoie 1 G, Joey Anderson 1 G and Cates with a goal.
I was checking that out too. Seemed like Lardis (2G 1A), Moore (1G 1A) and Korchinski(2A) are really going today in what I’ve seen.
