Quinn Hughes in the hot seat again for his loyalty/leadership. Day before yesterday he was filmed with his brothers at a baseball game on the east coast while almost all of his team mates are back in Minny doing the same captain’s skate as the Canucks. Minny needs to forget about this guy and try and recover some assets. Spoiled little fuck… no wonder he looked up to Miller…
Makes one wonder if Hughes told Guerin he isn’t resigning also? Guessing we won’t know til after if traded again like in Van. He’s becoming a bigger POS than the Tkachuks with only Lindros topping the list. The get for Hughes is going to be talked about for a long time if less than the Canucks got.

There is a possibility of an audition for a taste of what top level hockey is all about. Circumstances change & never know if a preseason injury(s) occurs.

Personally I’m pulling for Novotny to get say 3 games in & showcase his NHL ready body & skills. He’ll fill some of the empty with just the idea he gets onto the ice. Fan fave in the making. You heard it here 1st 🤣👍🏻
Onto the DeBrusk situation

I’m not surprised he’s still a Canuck. With 5/5.5 left on his contract there was no easy slam dunk trade to be had. On the surface I’ll assume 2 things Canucks are not willing to retain & DeBrusk offered a limited list of teams he would waive for. How limited I’ve no clue. He’s going to have to come to camp & be a pro & onto the season to up his own value to draw more interest or increase his list. It is a no lose situation for the Canucks it’s like he’s in his last year of a contract going to UFA to seek a suitor to pay him off. Je signed his contract with JR/PA & GMRJ isn’t obligated to move for him just to move him. He can & will wait it out for a deal makes both sides happy. There is the 3rd option but unlikely that Manny & the roster show real good signs early & DeBrusk cools his jets on leaving. That seems farfetched if the pom poms are put aside. Worst case scenario is he remains a Canuck til next offseason where more teams have cap space & needs to fill & DeBrusk has himself a good season to pump & dump himself. I’d hold out for 2-2nds or good prospect+ but ideally want a 1st.
