Verbeek playing hardball sure created a mess with Carlsson. Gauthier next up & not enough cap without a trade. Poor GM job for a good team on the rise.
If they don’t match… they will have 4 extra 1sts to trade for forward help. 2x 1sts for Petey and DeBrusk? That still would be less salary than Leo.
DeBrusk mentioned he wants to stay out west and I heard something about Petey’s wife and California connections. Could be a trade desirable for both teams and the players…
Never know but as you said if they don’t match they have to move 1sts. Already lost Trouba & Gudas for D depth.

I called him dip shit not pouty. Hated the guy for years and didn’t want him to sign at any price. I liked him his first three years and then he started skating like he shit his pants and played most of his TOI on his ass. My interest in him dropped off when he was a hold out with Hughes and he was recording in LA trying to get into the clothing business.

Not sure you can claim the first month’s ahead of anyone, as there were several posters who have never liked him, including many who called him Pouty.
I blew up HB about EP & people joked how much I posted & some even pissed off in disagreement. I ragged on incessantly about him from nearly the start of the 2023/2024 season starting in November.

Myself, I stated that if management couldnt get a reasonable deal done, they would trade him. I was wrong on both accounts. Instead they forced EP to sign an inflated contract and refused to trade him before his NTC kicked in and here we are.
That’s almost as bad as trying to get rid of Boeser for a couple of seasons… failed because he wasn’t worth anything… then re-sign him once he was a UFA to a contract with a NTC locking him down for several more years after they finally got him off the books.
Fuck those clowns.
