ParticipantI don’t get that one at all. We just dumped Woll to avoid carrying 3 tendies, and now there is talk of brining in Bob? He’s a good goalie, but very much helped by the team in front of him. And, he’s old. Pass for me.
Bob was an elite goalie. He helped the guys in front of him as much as they helped him. If he played for the Oilers, they’d have two Cups and Florida would have zero. But he’s about to be 38 and the Leafs love signing players until they’re ancient so it’s par for the course.
Panthers could also be telling Bob they’re moving on to the next elite goalie (Hellebuyck) and they’re allowing him to talk to their division rivals so he can become another anchor for them.
Carlo, Raddysh, and now maybe Bob. Leafs LOVE being the dumping ground for the best teams in the division.

ParticipantBob’s agent has always squeezed teams for every penny. I remember before Bob went to FLA, I wanted the Leafs to sign him but when he went to FLA everybody thought he was overpaid. His contract started bad but then he came back into form as the multiple Vezina winner he was and became a multiple Cup winner. He’ll be 38 at the start of the season, so he could just be talking to the Leafs through back channels to get the Panthers to increase their offer and increase the length of the deal because word was he wanted a long term contract. It would make no sense for the Leafs unless it was 2 years or less.
If Bob wants to win another Cup, there’s really only four places he should consider. Carolina, Vegas, Florida and Edmonton. Those are the only teams that need him and where he fits.
If Bob wants to be grossly overpaid and never win shit because the D in front of him expects him to make 40 saves every game, he should come to Toronto. That would probably happen in Edmonton too but at least they have McDavid.

They really going to do that?Chayka is indeed a retard so yeah, 7 year deal for the 37 year old goalie. The kid who grew up watching Sundin and the Pat Quinn GM days is here to run it right back.
I’d prefer to try and trade Andrae and Stolarz to VGK for Adin Hill + Kaedan Korczak + 1st in 2028.
Leafs get a good young RHD and a 1st to eat Hill’s contract. They get a cheaper replacement in Andrae and a back-up for less than Hill. Allows them to re-sign Andersson.
Hill has proven he can start 50+ games, won a Cup and can split the net with Hildeby if he struggles.

ParticipantI still like the Mason McTavish angle. The Leafs really need a 2nd line center and McTavish fits the bill. That Colorado 1st for Roy and a 2nd pairing defenseman gets it done. McTavish is only 23, the same age as Knies. That is the next tier of Leafs top end talent, if that can be done. Losing a top 4 defenseman isn’t a huge loss, when you can backfill in free agency. If the Leafs do go sideways, again this year, then you move the two big dogs and get your boatload of draft picks and young talent for a real rebuild. Having Knies, McTavish and McKenna on cheap deals for 3 years gets you to a fast rebuild.
That’s a pipe dream. Why would Anaheim just give up on a 23 year old they drafted 3rd overall after making the playoffs?
And, on top of that, he’s not THAT good offensively. If the Leafs were rebuilding, they could consider it. But to bring him in, the Leafs don’t have the assets to acquire him and stay competitive.
The Leafs best bet is to load up on bottom-six, face-off winning centers and guarantee Matthews and Tavares never have to take D-Zone FOs or play defense ever again. Let them score and let other guys defend. Simple and cheap.

Participantplus minus is a dumb stat to use, which is why ug always does. it full of noise, highly depends on the goalie and 5v5 on ice sv% which can be volatile season to season and if players are used with empty nets.
add in coaching style and a player who is pretty much the same can have huge variance in plus minus season to seasonIt’s not the best indicator but it’s an early sign of fire.
Depends on the goalie? You mean the Leafs DON’T have a Vasilevskiy? Oh my…this could end poorly…
Raddysh is relatively slow, over 30 and never been regarded as defensively strong. If he’s not scoring, he’s fucked. Not much different than McCabe and Rielly. But that worked out great for the Leafs.
Yay shiny new UFA. Nothing could possibly go wrong!

ParticipantUg whines about everything….everything.
Raddysh will be what the leafs need for the next 5 years, a Dman that can score from anywhere and has big shot from the point. And you get on your knees and suck anything Leafs or liberal.
Just like McCabe? Or Rielly? Or how Tavares was going to win so many Cups that the end of his contract wouldn’t matter?
Yeah right. Grossly overpaid for a one year wonder, as the Leafs always do.

ParticipantThings go from 0 to retarded pretty much every time you post – just like your bullshit made up stat was proven to be just that bullshit and made up when you claimed Raddysh will go “back to being a -10” and yet he’s never been anywhere near a -10.
No, that’s just when you or another one of you 100 accounts are here Retard Ranger.
Raddysh is slow footed and suspect defensively. He’s been a minus player before (-4 and -3) including in the AHL (-10, big surprise).
Just like the Leafs stupidly overpaid Rielly after he scored 20 goals and 72 points, Raddysh will eventually become the new Rielly and become the new overpaid, underscoring, defensive liability as he ages.
