More upset about him than WollnutsThat was always the problem with Benoit. He hits and fights, which you love to see, but his ability to actually prevent goals was bad and he had no offensive ability whatsoever.
But replacing him with a soft 5’9″ LHD will make teams like the Panthers and Bruins laugh when they’re crushing him into the boards on playoff dump-ins.
Woll was the best goalie the Leafs had in their system. They’re not going to make the playoffs with shit goaltending.

Terrible trade. Woll is injury prone but when he’s healthy, he’s better than Ersson who lost his job to Vladar because he’s never been a good starter. Stolarz is always hurt too and should have been the one to go. He has far less potential than Woll.
Cap space means nothing with no quality players to sign. The few UFAs out there won’t want to play on a bottom feeder like the Leafs unless they are grossly overpaid.
