ParticipantI would assume the AM/WN would have been asked also. 3 first round losses as Kings head coach, so I guess he fits the leafs mold
lol hence why I’m saying it’s not a bad choice but anyone who thinks any coach is a guarantee that the leafs will be better is dream-worthy hopeful.
Let’s see how management finishes playing with the roster this off-season, and then how the team meshes with him and his game when the season starts. He knows his hockey, I don’t doubt that, will it work with the leafs? *shrugs*

ParticipantBabcock’s old assistant in Toronto
Chayka tried to bring him in as an assistant in Arizona but was outbid by the Islanders
He coached the Kings up until this year
As I said, used to this crazy ass city already and already knows the core pieces, not a bad choice at all.

Participantman can’t do a simple quote —
Rielly will like San Jose.
Nope.

I am aware that he hasn’t waived his NMC yet.
I still think he will like San Jose.
So, You don’t think he will like San Jose?June 16, 2026 at 11:30 pm #74948Unholy_Goalie
ParticipantMarlies with the shutout W to take game 3!
It’s nice that the Marlies are winning but it would be nicer if the Leafs had more young guys on the team. Cowan wasted his time with the Leafs this year and they burned a year of his contract. He should have been with the Marlies from the start.
Reports are the Leafs are “several days away” from hiring a coach and that could mean it’s Gruden who gets promoted considering he’s about to win the Calder Cup and the Leafs might just be waiting for that to be officially over to promote him from within.
That would pave the way for a full rebuild nicely as Gruden could promote more Marlies up to the NHL with him as the Leafs sell off their big ticket assets.

ParticipantI think they could have gotten more for Woll, but maybe the market didn’t support that assumption. It could also mean that a free agent signing is imminent. $5M in cap space could allow the team to grab 2 free agent defensemen, once Rielly gets moved. Add another power forward and they’re in business. I don’t like small defensemen because they get demolished in the playoffs. I give this trade a C-. It all depends what they do with the Cap money.
Of all the players involved in the trade, Woll has the highest potential. And as usual, the Leafs quit on the higher potential players and settle for the leftover scraps.
Woll’s issue is that he misses too many games. In recent years, he has been improving on that problem. The same way that Andersen needed a back-up so he didn’t have to play 60+ games a year, the same is true about Woll.
The goalie that needed to go away was Stolarz. Leafs fucked up again.
