ParticipantWhat a fucking joke. Would have loved to have seen this team in the playoffs. They are definitely not the same team as last year, but with all the injuries to key players it looks like chances are getting slim.
As for Bitch Marner. Vegas has 1 more regulation win than the Leafs, they sucked when Eichel went down (apparently Mitch could not pick up the slack). Mitch has been mostly on the second line and has spent time on the 3rd line. Selke dude because he is a master of the PK? He is the 5th forward in PK TOI and there are 3 more FW within 6 seconds of him. So no he is not a PK god as some suggested and used as an argument to claim he was the reason he was the Leaf’s best forward.
Perhaps he will perform better with Vegas in the playoffs as a 2nd or 3rd line forward but for now he has proved to be nothing more than a regular season star, who is more of a PP specialist than a PK star.

Participantya so, Winnipeg won the Predent Strophy last year and look where they are now.
Hellebuyck won the President’s Trophy last year. He got hurt this year, the team fell off a cliff without him and they can’t recover because the hole was too big.
Matthews got hurt last year, Marner still had 103 points and won the division with Matthews being either out of the lineup or playing like shit half the time. Matthews went from 50-60 goals, 100 points now to UNDER a point per game.
What the retards did not realize is that spending money on Marner helps keep Matthews value where it belongs. So the Leafs thought they were saving money by losing Marner but they actually lost value in Matthews, which is retarded.

ParticipantFrom 2016-2017 up to last year, the Leafs PP has been an average of 24.2%. This year, it’s 17.6%. That’s approximately a difference of 7 goals per 100 opportunities which would be an extra 9 PP goals thus far, could be as many as 18-20 by the end of the season. The difference? No Marner and multiple games that could have been decided by the extra 9+ PP goals. Could easily be an extra 10 points in the standings which would put them at 67 points and tied for 3rd in the division with Buffalo. The #1 PP player for the Leafs has been Nylander and Matthews tied with 9 PP points. Marner as 16 PP points. And he’s not even being used to his full PP potential. Last year Marner had 33 PP points, 70 more at 5v5. Huge drop off that hurt the team that they could not replace.
Leafs GAA from 2016-2017 up to last year was an average of 2.92. Now it’s up to 3.46. That extra half a goal game average is the defensive difference that losing a Selke nominated, two-way player has on the team.
Between the 33 PP points contributions, the potential for 70 5v5 points, his 5v5 defensive play, all combined, would have been better than -17 Domi, -16 Tavares, -12 Maccelli. Those guys easily lost the Leafs 10 points with their defensive ineptitude and those are the guys attempting to replace Marner’s 5v5 ice time and PP time.
This team failed miserably to replace Marner. Losing him destroyed this team’s ability to contend.

ParticipantThe team would still be out of playoff spot with Marner in the line up.
Anyone who thinks otherwise, is just foolish.Anyone who thinks the Leafs would not be in the playoffs with Marner is retarded.
They won the division last year. He had 103 points. Just his PP contributions alone would have propelled the Leafs into the playoffs. He literally proved it last year. And his defensive game would prevent a lot of goals.

ParticipantYou werent telling the truth….you would just whine and complain about people justifiably dumping on marner
No, it definitely was the truth, I was definitely right and you were definitely wrong.
Unjustified dumping on Marner. The proof is in the results and destroyed your libtard world view. 103 points with Matthews injured, 1st in the division, contributed to 3 GWGs vs. Florida, the eventual Cup champions. Everything you retards said he couldn’t or wouldn’t do, he did. Then you blamed him for everything, while Nylander, Rielly, Carlo and then Tavares got a free pass because of his pajamas.
And now the team is so bad even the beLeafers can see this team absolutely sucks. Maccelli, Roy, Joshua, Tavares can’t replace him. They suck defensively. Tavares is -16. Maccelli -12. Joshua -2 and injured. Roy +1. That’s the part you retards don’t understand is how much Marner helped defensively and how much he carried the puck so that Matthews didn’t have to. Now, the more Matthews has to carry the puck, the worse he plays. Matthews has to keep Domi defensively positive, who is also a team worst -17. These are the feeble attempts to replace Marner.
You retards were so busy worried about saving money that you destroyed this team’s ability to contend.

Participantat a minimum a prospect and 2026 2nd rnd pick for McMann. I’d prefer a 1st, but the Oiler have one in 2027.
To take on Mangiapane contract/salary dump, Emberson is the payment/compensation for that or draft pick.[/quote]Ideally that would be great.
I just dont think you get anything higher than a late 2nd/early 3rd and b/c prospect for McMann.
The leafs havent been good at winning trades lately. In a somewhat perfect world, you shut down matthews and nylander for most of the rest of the season. Sell what you can and play ahl’ers and hope to get into the top 5 of draft….and not fall out during the lottery ball show. Or finish in top 10 draft and fall into the top 5. Leafs need some luck. Which has never been on the leafs side.

Would you do this trade?
Why would the other team give up that much for mcmann even if the leafs are taking on a bad contract?

ParticipantI sincerely mean it, time to blow this roster up and build it up in another way. I’ll always cheer for them to win every game, I’m a leafs fan, but this current team is a mess, I can say it.
This was the year to retool.
They should not have giving up the 2026 1st first last year at TDL.
This was always going to be a transition year, somehow Tre didnt see that coming (I get we’ve had a lot of injuries) but this was an unknown year with all the changes that were going to happen.I cant stress enough, even though Ive said it for years. You cant go “all in” year after year without having any success. You just cant.
Looks like once again, the leafs will be helping to make the Bruins a quality team. They never learn.
