I hope the Leafs get a couple of more goals, then we can black flag that little bastard Bennett. He should be suspended for a head shot. But Gary and his minions in New York will let this slide. If it was Sid or Ovi, they’d have given him at least a couple of games.

OK, we now have a chance to win this series. We don’t want to be chasing the Panhandlers. I think that they’ll get Woll ready for the next game. He wasn’t expected to play tonight and he was prepared. Hopefully, Stolarz is ready. It’s going to be a war in game 2. The Panhandlers will be as dirty as they can be. I was all ready to go to Wedgie’s prediction thread (is there one this year?) and predict that a Leaf would get injured on a dirty play and there would be no call. That seems to be another Leafy theme. Kadri got booted for entire series’ on plays that did not cause injury. Bennett put out Knies last time and looks like Stolarz this time. Does he get nothing again.

This happens if the plugin’s JavaScript is not loaded. Make sure that both CSS and JavaScript options are enabled. If that doesn’t help, make sure to enable ‘Always Include’ option too.
I’m fairly certain this is all a work in progress. There’s a lot left to polish up – Profiles, Quoting, some more obvious navigations . . . but it’s admittedly a good start – and people aren’t being randomly banned for months on end.

As luck would have it, I had a good little conversation with Jeremy Laura in his blog, just before I was banned. I asked him if he could help me – he couldn’t, but he told me that Ek was ignoring him too – including on payments.
So not hard to imagine it’s a blogger who is out to destroy Ek’s site – and what better way to do it than to attack the Leafs blog – the only thing still alive on the site.

Leafs are lucky they have 1 win already Alex to afford Stoly the extra rest. To be fair here, up until the last few weeks of the season everyone had been questioning who would be the starter. Woll is quite capable so as a fan I have no issues.

They made a good point on First Up that at least Woll got to get involved in the series with a 3 goal lead, that’s better than a backup usually gets.
This situation is an example of a great strength of the Leafs’, their goalie tandem.
If Woll goes in next game that is not a problem at all. Woll is capable. Having two guys you can win with is an amazing luxury in the NHL.

My unsolicited takes on the game while my spaghetti cooks….
1) Bennett is hot garbage. He should get the Claude Lemieux treatment, but it won’t happen because the league would have a stroke and excommunicate the entire Leafs roster.
2) Florida is the new Boston and Bennett is the new Marchand. Bennett will be licking faces next. I predict Yarncock. Bennett will lick Yarncock. Book it.
3) KNIES. That is all. I love this kid more every year. Pay him and keep him.
4) Willy Ny the Goals Guy. That is all.
5) Loving Tanev, Patches, and McCabe bringing the pain. Keep it up.
6) If the Leafs can get in Bob’s head, he’s done. Make his life in the paint a pain.
7) I have faith in Woll, but hope Stolie is back fast.
8) I like what Berubae is doing. Keefe would have lost that game.
9) Matthews is definitely playing hurt. No doubt about it (has been all season). He isn’t putting up points yet, but he’s not getting enough credit for being a warrior about it – he just does it in a more subtle way. As long as his metrics are good and he is a positive contributor, cut him some slack while the Leafs are winning.
10) Marner will take over the next game. Book it.

As for the goalies I believe you have it right, Woll just needs the confidence, and I think since he was able to fight his way through the hell that was the last game for himself he’ll be better for game 2, it would have built confidence. At the time, I just came off a month long ban for not much. I was able to use my alt account for that month, but you have to be super careful to not trigger a lifetime ban. At the time I thought it was unethical, but now having second thoughts, why sweat it? It’s time to talk to participants in other threads over there and see if they’d like to take a look. If the Habs fans decide to take a walk, the Buzz will be really in trouble. Do I relish what is happening? Not at all. It was a great place to talk hockey for the last 20 years. I have no idea what went down to get Mike and the Metz to leave. It seemed very peculiar and now we have a new outlet to try and build. I just hope that we can all realize that we sometimes went to far and insulted one another too many times. I’m hoping a reset gets everyone to respect other’s views. In reality, it’s a place to discuss the great game that we all love, Hockey. I hope the rest of you find the same peace and understanding that we are all different and we all have our own points of view.

Honestly? It took a long time but when a place starts being overrun by troll types and stuff like political talk it slowly degrades the place and more average people refuse to go back. There’s places like this, reddit, FB or a billion other social media platforms people can go and not be bombarded by ads or non-hockey talk. We can definitely build up this place to better than that.
Also, we can respect others views but I think some people have to cut it out on troll attempts on their own fan base and others have to not buy into it and respond.

Mr. Johnson (EK) deserves thanks for running the Buzz for the last 20 years. I’m not sure what caused it to degrade and then start allowing someone to ban a number of posters. We were told not to talk politics, yet he wrote a whole blog on Canada/U.S. relations and the tariff thing. He invited this to his doorstep. Sure, it had been going on for years among the posters, but it wanes over time. Other stuff not hockey related also filtered in. It would have been easier to put a political thread in a different spot on the site. He didn’t do that. Looking at it, it might be too late. He would be better off selling it, if he had a suitor. It’s time to move forward for the good of the fanbase.

Feels like one of those automatic loses. just cant imagine going up 2-0 on the heavily favored Panthers

I honestly feel no ill will towards Ek. I think the guy has a genuine passion for hockey, but is in above his head with running a busy website. The lack of communication between him, moderators, and other staff is wonky. Every large forum I have been a part of has a moderators-only forum where moderation decisions are discussed as a committee. None of this shit where the left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing. And there is clearly a lack of will to take basic measures to improve the situation, so I don’t know what to think of the guy. We have no idea what the guy might have on his plate in real life.

I just wish Ek would stop pretending he’s some kind of legit insider. Maybe he had some connections back in the early 2000s, but that ship has long since sailed. He wants to put out rumors? Go nuts. But don’t pretend like you just got off the phone with a GM, while texting a rival GM about a trade that is about to break. He hasn’t gotten a legit rumor right in 15 years.
His rumor posts are like when you look up a recipe online. They go into a long story about how this recipe was passed down for 12 generations, and their great grandmother had to smuggle it into of Auschwitz in her bra, only to pass it to a friendly seeming guard seconds before being gassed. Said guard then spent 10 years trying to track down OP’s grandmother and was able to pass it to her in the courtroom where he was being tried for war crimes, seconds before being found guilty. Like, shit, just get me to the f@cking recipe, I don’t need a whole backstory.

It feels like there’s a price point where people just don’t want to commit to these sales and enjoy the game at home. I wouldn’t be shocked if there’s issues moving forward with sports in general and seating. Yeah big stuff sells but people aren’t going to keep paying 1k or more to see them give a listless loss like in game 5. Not worth the gamble for 2k lol.

He absolutely has. It’s always “site upgrades and issues with that” and nothing else. I’ve sent him emails that bloggers were putting it in their blog that he’s disappeared and isn’t paying anymore. I mean if he’s got stuff going on at his home, just say so. Don’t half ass the thing. He doesn’t care.

Again having a 2 time cup champ as the back up after the guy who had won the starter job gets hurt and is out is pretty wild for any team but it’s extra delicious for Leaf fans.

If so hard to predict the injury that occurred or say it’s due to Stolarz being injury prone. Freak shot to the mask and/or elbow to the head from Bennett isn’t something any goalie could avoid due to them not being ‘injury prone’ IMO.

Not perfect but I read that the guys who have been kind enough to set this place up were focused on the basics first and this type of improvement is likely in the 2nd phase.
