No one close in the next 5 years. They have one D prospect who projects to be an NHL player. One. Outside of Bonk they have nothing but potential bottom pair guys, if they even pan out.

You need to take a closer look at how the current top teams were actually constructed, not how Hextall and Fletcher deconstructed the Flyers.

dont need to look at anything. flyers throughout the orginization are not good in almost every facet. They are poorly run. I have zero faith this group will turn it around.

you can try to be optimistic and spin it anyway. results matter and so far briere has not got any results. he is timid. he overrates his players and prospects. team is in the same spot since he took over. he has no plan who how to build a team.

    go flyers

Are you seriously implying the current Philadelphia Flyers are in the same position as the Panthers and Oilers?

It’s nice that they made those moves, but they were already contenders. The only thing the Flyers are in contention for is a lottery pick, and I have yet to see anything to convince me that No Plan Dan is the guy to get them where they hope to be.

The moves FLA and EDM made are what made them contenders.

It was mostly drafting made them both contenders. Yes, the Tkachuk trade helped put Florida over the top, but outside of said trade, the moves both teams made were complimentary players that added depth needed to contend. The Flyers are nowhere near that point.

Guys they traded to get Tkachuk were Florida draft picks. One a 100 point player.

You mean like stealing Bennett and Reinhart as well as Tkachuk? Yes, they made great trades too. The #1 and #2 overall picks still with them, Barkov and Ekblad, have been great. Lundell is a key contributor. Huberdeau has had two great seasons out of 13. The Flyers had two #2 overalls the last several years and got JVR and Patrick out of it. FLA’s drafting, overall, has not been as fantastic as you make it out to be. They were built with shrewd acquisitions.

Flyers are the next Florida. All the pieces are in place to make it happen. With their excellent management team only a matter of when not if.

The Flyers have two surpluses, draft picks and enough cap space to sign a Top 4 dman and a goalie this off season. They have an upside even if you don’t want to see it.

Can you explain what 2 surpluses means.

I do not see the upside you see in any way, shape, or form.

They have six picks in the first two rounds. How is that NOT a surplus?

    1st (No. 6 overall): Own.
    • 1st (No. 22 overall): Acquired from Colorado in 2024 trade of D Sean Walker.
    • 1st (No. 31/32 overall): Acquired from Edmonton for 32nd overall pick in 2024 (conditional to 2025 or 2026).
    • 2nd: Own.
    • 2nd: Conditional pick acquired from Columbus in 2023 trade of Ivan Provorov after they elected to keep their selection in 2024.
    • 2nd: Acquired from Anaheim in 2024 trade of F Cutter Gauthier.
    • 2nd: Acquired from Calgary in 2025 trade of Fs Morgan Frost and Joel Farabee.

They have about $19M in cap space with only York essential to resign. How much would you pay York? I’m admittedly terrible about what these guys can pull, even in arbitration, but they’ll still have $13M+ to sign a solid vet Top 4 Dman and a goalie. Use those picks well, give the kids a chance up front and let them develop. I’m hoping that’s the plan.

The problem is they need a #1 defenseman. Just getting another top 4 plug-in doesn’t move the needle.

Hague and jake allen come on down as your the next contestant on the flyers spinning their wheels. Is there a GH type out there to sign?

Bill any RyJo update? Maybe they can give him a shot now that torts is gone.

Also need another top 3/4 guy. Does any other team need more than what the flyers need? Goalie, Centers, Dman.
