Well, as much as we hate Drury, lets look at the amazing deadline Bowman and Oilers are having…

    The Oilers have traded:
    – a 2027 1st round pick (conditional), as a result of this trade, the 2026 1st round pick that the Sharks own is now completely unprotected
    – a 2028 2nd round pick
    – Andrew Mangiapane

    Oilers received:
    – Connor Murphy
    – Jason Dickinson
    – Colton Dach

So another RHD traded, Weegar to Utah for Maatta, a prospect and three 2026 2nd round picks.

If Im Drury, before I consider trading Schneider, I dangle Scott Morrow out there to see what the market looks like for him. I dont think Morrow’s offense is good enough to make up for his deficiencies defensively to be a mainstay defenseman, but someone out there might believe they can make it work.

STL Blues trade Parayko to the BUF Sabres for a 2026 1st and Radim Mrtka

Well, is that really a fact. Lets look at the 2 trades he made so far.

    — KAndre – a 1st, a 2nd and Morrow. Did we get low balled or did we do well here? I think we all were surprised with the pull so Im gonna say he did well.
    — Panarin – Greentree, 3rd and 4th. Unfortunately Panarin had a NMC. Do I feel like we could have done better? Sure. However Panarin set the terms. If you wait until after the Olympics and the Kings find themselves losing more games, they may decide to not trade for him at all since theyre out of it. Now we lose him for nothing. So, not ideal, but could have been worse.

Im gonna look at the KAndre trade and say thats more like what Drury is trying to pull off for Trocheck and Schneider.

Regarding the Trocheck trade, we HAVE to hit a home run. We also don’t have to trade him if the return isn’t there. No need to make a trade just to make a trade. Let’s see what the moron does

Yea I wrote that in PuckGM just now.

“Unless Detroit is sending us Danielson or Boston is sending us Lohrei and Poitras (or maybe Carolina is sending Nikishin), I personally have fallen out of love for trading Trocheck also. His value wont drop.

With Thomas, Kadri, ROR and Schenn out there… its tough to say if he should slow play his hand. But making a deal for the sake of making a deal would be an egregious mistake.”

So Tyler Myers traded for a 2nd and a 4th. How do we not get a 1st for Schneider if hes on the move?

The wild have nothing to offer. No 1st this year and no 2nd for the next 3 years. Yurov doesn’t move the needle enough for me. I want a trade with DET TB or BOS.

I dont think Wild want to trade Yurov anyway. Stramel is risky like Greentree is for us prospect wise because you find yourself putting a lot of faith in potential.

As far as Tampa goes, O’Reilly is possibly the better prospect, but they dont have a 1st until 2028.

Boston is interesting because they have 2 1sts this year, their own and Toronto’s, if theyre willing to part with a pick that definitely swings the needle. As far as prospects, Lohrei would be great, Poitras and Lysell are no better than all the other guys who are kind of mid.

Detroit, Im not as high on Kasper as everyone else (same with MBN) and I dont see Yzerman trading Danielson for Trocheck.

Ill mention them because theyre in play, but unless Carolina is sending Nikishin in a package, I dont want anything else they got (Nadeau, etc…). I just feel like if there was any chance of Canes trading Nikishin, it would have been done in the Miller trade.

Does anyone elses post not get posted? After I said the other day I wasnt having the same problems as others, the last 2 days Ive had many problems.

Its happened to me a bunch of times, and when you try to post it again, it says its a duplicate post even though it never did.

And there ya go! McCarron to Wild takes Trocheck out of the equation.
Drury overplayed his hand. Now it’s basically Carolina or Detroit..possibly Pittsburgh.
Was hoping for Yurov and a 1st but that’s over now.
    Also JT Miller on IR.
    Brisson and Morrow sent down
Up is Chmelar and old friend just mentioned him in my last post.. Parssinen.

How does 4th line McCarron take Trocheck out? This doesnt really do anything for them and their lack of top line center play. Wild next 3 games are against Bolts, Knights and Avs. They’ve already lost 2 straight, they may lose the next 3. Trading for Hughes was an all in move, they dont look like a cup team. They need to win if they plan on keeping Hughes. Theyre gonna end up playing the Stars or Avs in the first round, theyre not beating either as is. I think the McCarron move could be a set up for something larger, maybe Thomas? I dont think they trade Yurov for Trocheck, but they would for Thomas.

JT’s vagina must be sore again.

Wild traded a 2028 2nd round pick to NSH for Michael McCarron… If thats the case, we should get a 1st for Carrick.

Im talking with someone and spitballing some ideas… what do you guys think of the framework of this trade, atleast in a preliminary sense…

    To CAR: Trocheck and Schneider
To NYR: Nikishin, Nadeau and a 1st round pick

Looking like Othman’s time here is limited. Another first round pick we busted on now.

    Lias Kravtsov Kakko Laf Othmann.

    7, 9, 2, 1, 16.

Busted on every single one. It’s not the players, it’s the organization.

Ive been pressing the issues with development for a couple years. The team cannot move forward with Ortmeyer and Glass running player development.
