Hawks up 2-0 after an amazing effort by Bert to score that goal. Even if it was 0-0 at the end of the first, Hawks owned that period via puck possession. Nucks looked exhausted after that huge win in Dallas last night and it showed with countless 1-and-done’s in their zone. They’re essentially just going through the motions and the Hawks are pressing hard and it’s paid off.

And if Mikhelev keeps playing the way he does, I wouldn’t be able to trade him, i was so impressed with his effort and defensive play vs the Habs.

Mik’s picked up where he left off last year and continues to play with a lot of confidence and determination. Good to see a change of scenery work out for someone that ends up in a Hawk uni. Arty and Mik seem to have a bromance going similar to Pickle and Martinez last year. Unfortunately, they play different positions but maybe it’ll work out.

Like to see a lot these hockey players leave their ego in the locker room like Murphys retalatory hit, bank what happened and during the game pick a spot where you make that player pay.

Good point Dots. Big reason Murph is on the team is to show the rooks what to do and what not to do. Must’ve gotten his dad’s temper (Gord), eh?!

Loved what i saw of the Ice Hogs tonight

Couldn’t agree Moore Dots! They came out like Little Caesar’s hot n ready in the 1st even after playing a really tough game the night before. Kudos to the new coach for having the boys ready to roll out of the gate. Love their compete. They went up early and kept their foot on the gas. New goalie had 29 saves on 31 shots, Lardis’ pass for his helper was astounding and Moore looked great in that 3-on-1 scoring a goal at a high pace as Kyle asked him to work on. Looking forward to their next game already, go Hogs!

Off night and small sample size included, let’s talk about 2026 because, why not? The big UFA’s at least so far are re-upping with their current teams to max the 8 years which I get but what’s next? That’s out the window with the new CBA and Hawks are up and coming starting next year. If there’s no top tier UFA’s willing to coming to Chicago in June, does Kyle from Who Cares Where pony up the draft capital for a top tier RFA? Kyle could theoretically bend over Dallas this offseason. If they prioritize signing Harley over Robertson, which they should in order to shore up the blueline going forward, Dallas will be in a precarious position. They’ll prioritize Race over Robertson because their future blueline is headed by Heiskanen/Lindell only but their forwards group is stout to the core for several years plus Emil Hemming and Jaxon Fuder coming up in the not so distant future.
Kyle has a boatload of prospects already and 5 picks in the first two rounds in a deep 2026 class. After that, we should be supplanted for two years. Instead of going for a big UFA, offer sheet Robertson for what Nill can’t even afford. Threaten that while offering a gentleman’s deal beforehand offering 2027 1st, Reichel’s RFA rights, Crevier, and Bertuzzi/Dickinson. Dallas is in a bad spot, exploit that.

Sorry Frenchy. Looks like Peg signed your UFA hopeful for the Hawks. Kyle Connor signed 8 years/$12 mil AAV. Good for him and well deserved.

After the first period, they looked like a real hockey team. Obviously not the best, but lots of kids trying to get their footing in a reg season game. I thought most got better as the game went along.

Didn’t work last season. Can’t believe he’s still on this roster. Flip him with another guy elsewhere that also needs a change-of-scenery and let’s go. Shit or get off the pot.

I’m in agreement that it’s a good idea.
Would keep the general chat cleaner.
Someone could start it each Game Day by posting the lineups.

Does not have to be the same person, just whoever sees the lineup that day.

Maybe see how it goes. If it’s not trafficked enough, people will just end up talking about it in the general chat anyway. No one even comments on Tab’s GDT most of the time. HB had a decent GD following though so who knows!

With the Greene emergency call up, we know who is first up. I’ve not seen anything on Slaggert or heard anything the entire preseason. Did he make the team?

Not exactly. Slaggs is a defensive forward in the bottom 6 and that’s what Greene will be so they called him up over Moore but just my opinion. Wondering if it means Foligno moves up to 3rd line wing and Greene centers line 4?

Surprised at McD signing for only 12.5M. Giving Stan the opportunity to fill in pieces around him the next 2 years. Good for him.

I don’t like it either. Stan will have plenty of cash over the next two seasons as is. Salary cap is supposed to be around $104 million for next season and Stan has $71 million in contracts for next season including McJesus’ new deal. $35 million to add a goalie, 3-4 d-men and a couple bottom six forwards. Be nice to see Kyle send Stan his leftovers (Reichel & Crevier) in a trade. Two cheap contracts for next season and we take Isaac Howard in return.

Grzelcyk is Gus 2.0, don’t expect any defense from him.

He’s not. Gus has played 515 games and is -15 for his career. Grizzly has played 527 games and is +131. Also, Gus is a whore. 8 teams in 6 seasons = whore.

I don’t understand the Lafferty acquisition, unless they just want Moore/Greene to get more time in Rockford.

Think this was the plan all along regardless of how they did in camp. Dangle the carrot and make them hope/try their best, but ultimately Kyle was always going to send them to Rockford to pay their dues and earn their way. Lafferty may end up taking the torch from Foligno for the elder statesman role after this season.

Does Bert seem really slow to anyone else? I know he’s typically a 2nd half player but he looks like Big Rig slow out there tonight.

So, Comcast just put the Marquee Network (Cubs) on their premium package. It is time to find a new cable company

Keep comcast internet and get Fubo and Hulu.
