ParticipantThanks for the info. No surprises.
I’m interested to see if Commesso can go from “looking very good” in the AHL to “looking too good” for the AHL.I’m interested to see if Toninato makes it through waivers. Misiak is the only natural RW on Rockford pending what happens with Moore as Anderson is likely out for awhile. Next question is who centers Lardis?

ParticipantI tell you in a rebuild i think it’s great Kaiser is looking like a solid defenseman,
I think if you can make Murphy a 5th dmen on your team then you are in good shape. We’ll see if Kaiser will be able to continue to play well through the preseason and during the season. This also allows the franchise to send Korchinski to Rockford for more seasoning, win win.
What i saw from Arty he looked good last night so we’ll see.
Agreed on all this and you know who’s had a really great camp and completely deserves an NHL spot? Allan. Guy does whatever he’s told and has been hitting everything in site the past two games and rarely makes a mistake. He’s often an afterthought and is likely going to get sent back to Rockford to pair with KK to help him develop. Allan is infinitely better than Crevier ever will be.

ParticipantWhy remove the option of a D 2 D pass?
So the retreiver has to skate the puck out himself,or ring it around out of the zone or find a forward to pass to?Correct. No D2D below the dots and it’s to avoid a lateral/semi-lateral pass which helps the forecheck.

ParticipantIt’s looking like Behm may be this year’s Lardis. If Behm gets into the 50+ goal mark, it’s a success.
Behm started hot last year with 22 points in the first 13 games and was projected for late 1st round in mocks during Nov/Dec because of the start. His compete was said to have fallen off as the season dragged on for the low scoring lousy Kamloops team he was on. If he keeps pushing the whole season, he could likely push for 100+ pts.

ParticipantWe can never have enough Steve, though Assman is doing a good job in his absence.

ParticipantFLA still has the option to trade their 2026 1st sometime before the 2026 draft in which case the Hawks get the Panther’s 2027 1st.
Maybe FLA will use it in a package to obtain McTavish for use as a replacement center.
Yeah, except if they go that route then they would be giving up their 1st round picks for 2026, 2027, and 2028 due to Marchand deal conditions being achieved thus taking the 2027 1st rounder. If Hawks slide to their 2027 1st rounder then Bruins take their 2028 1st rounder.

ParticipantHoly crap Barkov out for the whole season.
Everyone is talking about how the Hawks might have a chance to win opening night with Barkov and Tkachuk out but why is no one talking about how much better that 2026 1st rounder could end up being because of said injuries and in a sick draft class no less?! Could potentially go from #30 to #20.
Another thought, this now moves Benny up to 1C and likely push Reinhart or Marchand to 2C but if that doesn’t work out and they have to move Lundell to 2C, Florida is very thin up the middle and will need to look for help outside their organization immediately. Cough **Jason Dickinson** Cough. Clear Throat. Ahem! Another guy we have that would fit their style of play is Bert.Assman22
ParticipantBesides isn’t that exactly what KD did with Kirby Dach?
Kyle didn’t draft Kirby Dach. He was still picking guys up from the airport back then lol which is why he didn’t want anyone from that era to be on this Hawks team and why Kane/ADB and the rest had to go immediately. Kyle wanted respect within the organization and wasn’t going to get it as a new GM when Kane & Co only knew him as Bowman’s female dog!

ParticipantIn the preseason game the one thing i did not like was the forwards not engaging the puck carrier, instead stopping short and guessing where the pass was going, i sure hope that’s not part of Blashill’s approach.
Agreed, they were reacting slowly instead of naturally and likely due to the new systems. The sooner they sort out who’s going where, the sooner they can hammer in the details of the new systems with extra reps to just the ones staying up rather than all the camp bodies. Also, to your point from a previous post about Arty, I also agree he’d be better off going to Rockford along with KK. Not sure who of the two would get paired with Allan but the other will end up with Harding or Mast. If I had to pick one or the other staying up, I’d keep Arty up and hope the vets can whip him into shape.

ParticipantIf this is Soda’s standard game and not the exception, the Hawks are going to be in good hands in net this year.
Soda’s been solid for awhile now in games where he limits the rebound chances. He does a great job of squaring up the shooter to make himself big but when he moves his body upward in doing so, his pads go from slightly inward downfacing (which causes the puck to go downward) to flat so if the puck hits his pads while he’s in the motion of squaring up, he’s extremely vulnerable to giving up juicy nuggies on the doorstep.
