I want to say at least 10 kings hit the ice in the 2nd period, glad the refs decided not to bail them out.

Hi anxiety plays by Knight in the 2nd, glad the team could bail him out, nice to see Kaiser get a goal.

Credit to Bedard going to the tough areas to score the PP goal.

What a save by Knight, again.

At times this team can just swarm the opponent, really impressive. It seems to be happening more and more.

I was just curious since we are so far under the cap for next year, i imagine the Blackhawks will be paying the max bonus to Connor Bedard and I’m sure other ELC players will be getting a bonus, can the Blackhawks count that money towards next years cap hit?

It’s crazy to me that 11 players on this team are 24 and younger.

    Knight is fantastic
    38 goals
    81 Apples

Subtract Bedard you’ve got 21 goals by 8 different players, at that rate you’ve got 60ish goals and 180 apples to end the season, that’s not including the vets and whatever Connor ends the season with?

Glad to see the team is playing well and having great periods against some solid teams. Seems like every game lately, we have at least one period where we dominate and overall we seem to be playing teams more even 5v5. The standings are so tight, the few blown calls by the refs and a minor mistakes have been the difference from this team being around the top 10 vs being 21st in the league.

I know the goaltending has been huge, but if they can just tighten the screws a little more defensively and find one more star forward, this team is going to start to be a problem.

I like Rinzel’s game, but man he has been getting caught a half step behind a bit too much lately and taking penalties or just barely getting away with infractions because he is trying to keep up. Last night vs Vegas he probably could have been called a couple more times for getting his stick in the hands because he was beat. I’m wondering if the NHL grind is wearing on him a bit.

Overall, really like the position we are in. Cap space is looking good. Young players growing into bigger roles. Prospects excelling in various leagues right now. 5 more draft picks this year in the first 2 rounds. We could be in for a really fun next 5-10+ years or more depending how they manage these assets.

I do notice he gets caught flat footed at times at the blue line, i think one of his off season workouts will be to improve the first step backwards. I do agree they could of called some on him but if they did LVGK would of been in the box all night. I’m really not complaining i want them to have to battle through the infractions it’s only going to make them better, just an observation of how many teams are having to play this style to compete and beat us.

It’s just so nice to see a team now that creates space for themselves exiting their own zone, neutral zone and offensive zone. This team was so much quicker that the LVGK last night.

They could of called LVGK for at least 5 more penalties in the game unfortunately that’s how you’ve got to play when you are the slower team.

In every game other than Buffalo it’s great to see the opponent skating and working as hard as they can in the 3rd period, something opponents didn’t have to do much of last year.

Cassidys concerned face last night makes me smile, the realization that this team can skate us out of the building….

Blackhawks got greedy that line was gassed but 11 has got to stay on the ice to play defense

I think 59 has been great for us offensively but was that him on the 2nd goal against not skating back the 180 feet to be an outlet on the half wall?

As i watch this young team 59 irritates with his half hearted effort without the puck. When when he scored the 2nd goal he stopped skating because the pitch was going in the other direction. Please don’t put 8 out there with him either i appreciate 8s effort but he struggles defensively or just making the simple plays to get out of his own zone.

2 goals in 2 minutes, nice shot by Moore.

All good info coach. I think one of the things a lot of the young dmen are learning is how quickly the puck can end up going the other way when you make a mistake with it.

Kids got to learn the methodical method of NHL hockey, and situational awareness many times especially in the 2nd period the right play is just get it to center ice and shoot it in so your dmen can change.

I think Knight has had to stop at least one uncontested breakaway a game in the month of November, and he’s been absolutely fantastic at it.

They play the Yankees of the hockey world tonight, they are beginning to look a lot like the Maple Leafs before Marner left, lots of good looking forward but meh defenseman.

With Hawks needing to get to the salary floor next season and having a $30 million gap to do so, there’s been rumors of bringing in a big vet with a large cap hit like trading for Stamkos to help bridge said gap. Stamkos has a $8 mil cap hit for two more seasons. Problem is his production has fallen off since joining the Preds however there is another horse in the race the Hawks may be inclined to bringing in on a short two year deal without trading assets: Artemi Panarin.

Breadman is still a ppg player and could play top line with Bedard and Burakovsky or 2nd line with lil Frankie and Turbo while Bert bumps back up to 98’s line. Panarin adds a scoring threat this roster really needs for both 5v5 and PP.

I don’t see any forwards in Rockford this year that’ll make the jump next season. Not even Lardis. Maybe Frondell but he’s currently playing 3rd line in Sweden so yikes. Vanacker, Spellacy, Kantserov, and possibly Pridham will be added to Hogs roster but will need at least a full season in Rockford before they’re potentially viable options. Seems to be a 2 year gap before a wave of legit prospects are ready to push for NHL spots so a 2 year deal for someone like Panarin would make a lot of sense plus re-signing Mik or Dickinson.

I recall in years past I’ve heard many say who wants to play for the Blackhawks?

I imagine that there may be some vets out there that might believe the Blackhawks might be in a great position with young players who are still on their rookie contracts to compete for not only the playoffs but the Stanley Cup next season.

I do think KD is in a fantastic position to get what he may feel he needs, he’s actually putting himself in the driver’s seat because of all the assets he has, draft capital and no salary cap restrictions.
