ParticipantThey score that 1st goal and now they lose their aggressiveness? Is like to see them keep that energy going till that final whistle
BetweenTheDots
ParticipantDon’t know if they can keep that up for 3 periods but the future is bright for this team after what i saw against the Avs and now the wild, and more kiddies who can skate on the way with skill and compete an excellent goalie

ParticipantToo bad Kaiser can’t hit his spot with a wrist shot

ParticipantBy the looks of it they don’t have a chance tonight?

ParticipantIt’s really going to be interesting where KD goes from here.
I just can’t see him making a trade for a player who’s unhappy somewhere else.
With so many prospects coming and with the youth movement i think they’ll be able to sign some very good vets who want to win. I think the next couple of years and beyond are going to be exciting.

ParticipantBesides it sounds like Frondell was playing so well and getting a ton of media attention they demoted him to the 3rd line? They said it was best for his development? At one point they played him minimum minutes and the Blackhawks got involved.

ParticipantA game like this against the AVS is why I wasn’t impressed with Frondell’s hot start. Instead of having 8 goals at the time, in the NHL he’d probably have zero. Just using him as an example, he had way too much space, too much time and too crappy goal tending.
Really? I thought the opposite, and when watching the other prospects like Misa, Desnoyer and others who had all day and then some to make things happen, Frondell to me had to make things happen quickly. I also think against the team like the Avs they were fantastic like the Blackhawks taking away the pass opposite the goalie, they need to get the puck low, get it back high to the defender and the forwards need to crash the net, gotta get dirty goals against the Avs you can’t pass them in.
I’m probably wrong but i think Frondell going to the net and creating havoc would of been a good thing for the team last night

ParticipantAt the game Bertuzzi kept pointing at the big screen. I’ve never seen it before but i believe they actually watched the video since the UC kept playing it over and over and reversed the call.
Watching them vs the Avs this team is so close to being really really good once their processing speed catches up to their physical abilities.

ParticipantI know they lost tonight but they played great. They didn’t look out of place at all vs this team. They were skating great MacKinnon was ordinary tonight and many teams can’t say that. I can’t wait until this young team plays mentally faster with the puck or receiving the puck. They are so close to being really really good.

ParticipantIt’s easy for us fans we see the guys open on the ice but yea the Blackhawks could of had 4 to 5 odd man advantages if the defenders knew what we saw but i trust they will get there with experience
BetweenTheDots
ParticipantAt the game and the most noticeable thing i see is the processing speed to make a pass, i can’t wait until that processing speed gets to the NHL level for these young players

ParticipantIt’s called venting? So you’re saying you’ve never bitched about something that happened to you or someone or something you cared for in your life?
But then you post about others complaining with some crap about life?
Sure

ParticipantI know I am not the only one that watches games that do not involve the Hawks, Mackinnon, McDavid, Hughes (often injured) get hacked and whacked in prime scoring positions with no penalty called.
Interesting about head hits too, I remember on the old board when Hagel ran Barkov with a direct head hit in the playoffs without the puck and Barkov was called soft.So many fans of every team in every sport are convinced that the refs/umpires/officials hate their team and want to screw them over.
I’ll be honest i had no interest in watching NHL hockey Friday because of the 2 terrible calls. So i didn’t. Won’t watch today either. I have tickets for Sunday and I’m thinking about just giving away my tickets that’s what that ref did to me.
I get it most people enable the refs, so the expectation is hockey players need to be tough work hard and be passionate, yet the refs get a pass on bad calls, no calls and not being thick skinned. I hope woman begin entering the league as refs because they need to eliminate the egos these young men have who couldn’t make it as an NHL player.
BetweenTheDots
ParticipantExcept it wasn’t a head hit, he hit him shoulder to shoulder. It was more about the puck not being on his stick but keep beating that drum
BetweenTheDots
ParticipantI hear you is crazy to me that Bedard gets called for hurting the refs feelings but hey if a guy puts his head in danger he’s fair game, they care so little for players safety.
