ParticipantWhat a nice 1st period.
Now i hope in the 2nd they focus on playing good defense, if they have to defend in their own end, do it get the puck skate it out, shoot it in and get off the ice, play good defense in the neutral zone and don’t open it up because you’re up 3. Zero hero plays inside the opponents blue line.

ParticipantI would really like the team if they go into the 2nd period with the lead to play 200 feet of hockey.
If you end up getting pinned in your end once you get the puck to center ice you have to shootv it down and all 5 players get off the ice.
Next group comes out try to play good defense in the neutral zone but if they don’t then once they defend in our zone get puck possession same thing.
The long change is like a methodical boxing match, you’ve got to pick your moments when they reveal themselves.

ParticipantTwo nice things I’m seeing is the Blackhawks are giving fits to slow footed defenseman
The other is the 50/50 pucks are much better for us in games.
I want my dmen to stop trying to create a shot for now, if it’s not there either shoot it along the boards or try to bounce it off the back wall.

ParticipantI think the Blackhawks got schooled by the Kings, next time a team opens it up and you have a lead you’ve got to treat that puck like gold. As soon as the Kings took the lead they slowed the game way down closed the blue line and the boys had a tough time keeping our gaining possession in the ozone

ParticipantI’m fine with the penalties because that let’s me know the team is being aggressive defensively. I don’t want the refs to take that away from my team even though they are trying.
I think the loss to LA was a good lesson. One of my favorite things about Campbell was he never tried to make something out of nothing, and would just shoot the puck along the boards behind the net to keep the opponent pinned but more importantly back to the goal so even if they win the puck they have to be careful with it. A lesson that Rinzel, Kaiser, Arty all need to learn.
It’s sad that Dickinson still doesn’t understand that.
Blackhawks just need to keep playing the way they are but this time if the opponent opens it up and you’re winning don’t follow suit, let them make the mistake so you can go up 2-0.

ParticipantI wonder if the Blackhawks are hoping that Arty will do what he has done in every league so far, 15 to 20 game mark the light goes on and he begins to be the best defender on the ice.

ParticipantBread i take no issue in your assessment, i think it’s fair.
Last 2 games are probably Kaisers worst. That’s the thing though for young players it’s about consistency. Last year and this year he is showing flashes of being a top 4 dman? Will he become one? Time will tell, but for now we have the luxury of giving him 160 games to show us.
One thing is evident, how painfully slow Murphy is.

ParticipantHope the injury isn’t too bad to Micky

ParticipantKaiser turning back into his human self last 2 games

ParticipantGotta use your body, this isn’t stick check hockey
BetweenTheDots
ParticipantCrazy how reckless the Blackhawks are being with the puck in the 2nd period
BetweenTheDots
ParticipantI love how they played fast but as soon a the PP happened they slow it way down. Instead of playing in the PP it seems like they are doing a while lot of thinking.
BetweenTheDots
ParticipantHows that icing they were on the pk?
