The aging out thing..
They still need some veterans with all these young guys coming up. And are we sure Miller was the problem in Vancouver? It seems like EP40 was and still is a problem (is in rumors). They didn’t have a captain or anyone worthy of being a captain so they traded for one. It was more about getting leadership in the room. Rangers and Drury could trade for Messier in his prime and you guys would be pissed because you’re impossible to please
I’m stubborn because I see why he’s doing. I may not agree with everything he does, but I’m willing to see it through, you’re just too stubborn and unforgiving to actually let him cook. If you think about it, without hate glasses on, he hasn’t really “built” a team. He took over a pretty good team that Gorton put together, bought to make it better and get over the hump. It didn’t. Fault lies in a lot of places, Drury some of it yea, but it’s not only person. The picks made post letter the last time basically all shit the bed. Drury had nothing to do with that. That was all Gorton and gord Clark scouting. Since then it’s a been tear down process obviously, and that where you guys get pissed. And I get it. But he realized they weren’t good enough therefore they needed tear it down. You guys just won’t accept that fate.
Let him build a team with his vision and see what happens. That’s when he will get fired, if this retool/rebuild doesn’t succeed. But it isn’t happening overnight, it’s really that simple
I never said that those picks were Drury’s fault. This is why I keep saying they need to fire Ortmeyer and Glass because they oversee the development of these players.
You say that were mad about the tear down process? No were not mad about the tear down, were mad at how its being handled. Trading for Miller, giving up what could have been a top 10 pick, adding another non-movable 8m contract and making him captain, was not the move to make.

Drury is the Captain of this ship. Trading Goodrow to the Sharks, Sharks are better, trading Trouba and CK20 to the Ducks, Ducks are better. KK to Seattle, TBD. The Rangers return for these trades, team is worse, actually terrible, new coach, team still sucks!! Drurys job is to identify the problem and fix it. He hasnt, you cant make trades just for the hell of it, it has to improve your club. Drury has had the team for 5 years now, 2 of these years the team doesnt make the playoffs and will not for the next 2, whose fault is it??

If Trocheck isn’t traded this is all pointless. He’s barely a 2c especially on a team that doesn’t have a franchise 1c and he’s got a ton of trade value by gods grace. The wild want and need him
Shane Wright for Laf? Change of scenery trade brings us a young C with potential and another year on his ELC. No idea if that’s actually enticing to SEA
Use Panarin with 50% retained to get Ryan Leonard from WSH to reunite with Perreault. WSH wants Panarin (not sure if Panarin wants WSH)

Why would you want to keep Mika and Miller??? If you are going to blow it up, blow it up. Its been done already, Mika isnt doing it in the playoffs and neither will Miller. Get rid of them and do a full tank. Dont do it half ass like the Rangers did before.

I really feel that it’s because they always have to chase after the next 2 points to save their job, while the franchise needs to have a longer term outlook.Not sure what this Drury plan is. To trade your leading scorer, who will replace him? Going to have a big hole on offense and Miller and Mika wont fill it as they get another year old. If they get rid of Mika and Panarin then what? Miller isnt going to produce when he was younger and if Trocheck is dealt then what? Lots of questions marks.
Not exactly sure what it is but this team just sucks!! If you told me 2 years ago that this team went from the best in the league to bottom 5, even I wouldnt have believe you. Sully wasnt the savior some thought he would be. Drury is just plain horrible, he might make a few good trades but to get his team motivated he gets a zero. Trade all of them over 25 and start over. No need to keep any vet because they wont be good enough when this team can become a contender again.
Have faith men. Let the genius cook (I know I know). They are already in a good position salary cap wise. Where they can either take on bad contracts or retain on guys for added assets. They already have 3 first rders next two drafts with probably two more coming, once they trade Panarin and Trocheck.
The quicker we all realize that once that Florida series ended, that teams window had closed, and the better you will feel about the direction. Drury knew that and here we are. He isn’t going anywhere because Dolan knows this too, especially with the injuries this season, that isn’t happening. At least we’re two years ahead of this instead of waiting til now to start it (retool)

I never like the Miller trade. I didnt want a guy who couldnt get along with his teammates. Of course trading an injure prone player as Chytil was worth it but now as it looks like Trocheck will be traded, maybe Miller will want to be moved too. Miller is 33 in March, what will he have left when these picks mature in 3 to 4 years?
After what CGY just got from VGK for Andersson, Rangers should be able to get a nice haul for Bread (50% retained) and Trocheck.
We will see what he can do. Unfortunately.
I agree with everything you said, Jan. No player outside of Igor and Miller should be safe. The root issue, though, is Drury. Perhaps this retool is his last chance. If he doesn’t come out on top trading the whole team, the plug should 100% be pulled.
Why would you want to keep Miller?? He will be 33 next month, a rebuild will take at least 3 years. He will be 36.
God I can’t believe we’d actually trade for Sherwood… I feel like Drury will attempt something drastic to save his job
Its always about saving their job. If they trade away 1st round picks and prospects, he doesnt care because if it doesnt work out, he will be gone and not have to deal with it anyway.

Hats off to Mika for at least showing up and putting up points. I dsidnt think he had it in him. I said it before, I didnt want Miller to be Captain and still dont. Only silver lining is this team has traded its last 4 Captains so I can hold onto some hope. Doesnt look like Sully was the right coach for this group so who is? Trouba, Goodrow, KK and CK20 were definitely the problem with this team.
