ParticipantIs Nylander playing?
Actually, yes. You may have noticed an incredible pass on the game tying goal where if he was wearing #16 you would have jizzed in your pants.
Oh, and he also scored the game winner in OT.
Are you actually surprised? Maybe he missed the Willy display of awesomeness simply due to the fact he was rage pounding his pud after watching Marner miss on the shootout and cost his team a point, not even what a week after coughing up that muffin in OT to – yet cost his team another point?
Vegas has 5 more points & the same # of regulation wins than the Leafs in the same # of games.
Vegas has 5 more OLT points – that’s the difference.
I don’t remember hearing that Vegas had 7 starters out at any given point in the season. Maybe the chicken little crowd needs to chill out a bit?
Great to see Wonder Woll have himself a game and some of the regulars back in the line up.
On to a 5pm game tomorrow vs the Caps – it would be nice if they could go on a bit of a heater.

The Leafs simply couldn’t afford to keep both if they wanted to build a more balanced roster (despite JT taking an incredibly team friendly deal and performing well beyond the value for what he is being paid – suck it UG you meat stick) which pretty much everyone agreed they needed to do at this point (yes many said it much earlier and have proven to be right). Now if they have or have not accomplished building said more balanced roster so far is a whole different topic of discussion but the injuries have really impacted this team so far this year – a point that the chicken little types here just seem to ignore entirely.
The numbers so far tell us that the entire Willy is selfish, lazy, and a huge defensive liability and Marner is just an elite playmaker and such a better player than Willy narrative is providing to be complete and utter bullshit so far this regular season. Maybe Willy is in fact a sniper AND an elite playmaker!
And we all know which of those 2 players was effective in games 4-7 in playoffs series in past years and which one was not.
It will be pretty interesting to see how this looks come end of the season.
Who knows Marner may win a cup in Vegas but at this point it looks like he’d be a passenger and not leading them to it.
Things can change, time will tell.
Nothing would please this Leaf fan more than to see a Toronto / Vegas cup final and watch Marner cry while Willy raises the cup lol.
Can you imagine the media circus if it was a Vegas / Leaf final?
I hear what youre saying, but.
Actually I have no interest in ever seeing vegas in the cup final…even if its to see the leafs beat them. The best would be for marner to never see a final. 🙂
Honestly two thing can be true imo. Marner is an elite reg season playmaker and Willy has turned into a great sniper and star playmaker.
As of last year, Marner still had an edge defensively over willie (i havent watched him this year) but willie has the edge on being able to handle pressure and showing up when needed.Marner is old news.
We have Willie styles for the next 6 years….someone needs to move onAnd JT is a BEAST! Anyone who suggested resigning him at a lower aav would be a mistake, is simply an idiot.
Fair points – I said it before Vegas got to a final and I still feel this way – I want that fanbase to suffer through a terrible team for several years like every other fanbase of every other team in this league has had to do, especially when new teams were introduced and used to suck for years! Vegas fans have been spoiled, they will probably always have good ‘ticket sold’ #’s because casinos etc. will always buy tickets but it would be interesting to see how many fans would be in seats game by game if they were a basement dwelling team.
JT is playing so well, and it’s hard not to see that and how Matthews has struggled and wonder if the pressure of wearing the C in Toronto has that big an impact on players? It must be nice for JT to not think “shit I have to go talk to the media for an hour after every single game all year” and just do small interviews and play hockey.

Nylander did not have to go to keep Marner. Marner was “replaced” by 3rd line plugs who not only suck but also are under performing compared to Marner. In case you haven’t noticed, you probably haven’t because you’re retarded, this team is teetering between a lottery pick and is 2nd last in the East. This is because management has completed fucked over this team, as Treliving did in Calgary, by losing one of it’s best, most elite players and replaced it with a pile of dog shit.
You can keep dreaming of watching this team beat Vegas for a Cup but at this rate, the Leafs will be tanking, drafting 1st overall while Vegas is actually being a contender. But you won’t understand what you’re watching because you’re a typical brain dead Leafs fan swallowing a meat stick.
Awwww look at what a good little doggie you are!
I rang the bell and you came running! So typcial of you to ignore the facts posted and then transition to using some of your favourite words to try and insult people showing everyone what an absolute piece of human garbage you are.
I guess I’m supposed to be all angry and upset that you called me a retard and insinuated that I’m gay or something?
Sorry but I’m not – I mean if I was a 12 year old maybe I’d be upset but even then I’m not sure I would be. I just figure that your behaviour stems from you being so unable to be articulate or speak intelligently or have any sense of decency that you continue to call people retards and the 2nd piece is likely projection at it’s finest.
Not that there is anything wrong with you being gay bud, live your life and love whomever you wanna love!
Can you read? I said if the Leafs wanted to build a more balanced roster they needed to move on from one of the 2 (because they were not going to trade Matthews & JT was going to resign for less or leave) – if they wanted to build a more balanced roster. Sorry if that’s too hard for you to understand, same as the fact that the world doesn’t operate in video game GM mode which is the other thing you seem to just not be able to grasp.
If you hate the Leafs so much why do you come here and post dog shit all day every day? Why not just stay away?
Man your life must really suck.
The fact you started a thread that nobody replied to, then posted a link to it in a reply to try and get someone to engage and got nothing only to make the incredibly pathetic move of replying to your own post in that thread to try and get attention says it all hero.
You are just so pathetic it’s just laughable.
Have a great afternoon, I hope you find some happiness.

ParticipantLeafs put Woll on LRIR?
That doesn’t sound good at all.
As usual, your predictions are bang on. Thanks Bobby. Welcome back Woller.
FYI AA – someone stating something that is a fact is not a prediction you mouth breathing incel pretending to be other posters.
If you don’t understand something maybe go ask an adult before posting you clown.

ParticipantPro tip for those Jays and Leaf fans who are priced out of the Jays game on Saturday.
The Leafs moved the start time of their game to 5pm and are showing the Jays game on the jumbotron after the Leaf game.
I just looked on Ticketmaster and there are still A LOT of unsold tickets and as a result lots of resale tickets at face value or less.
I saw some of my favourite seats (Blues at the end of the rink where the Leafs shoot twice) 1st row for just over $200 per seat from a reseller and there are quite a few low rows in that area. I like the ends because the sections are nice and small and it’s easy to get in and out of your seats + everything is close (bar, washroom, concessions etc.).
If I wasn’t busy Sat. night I’d definitely have done this – seems like a great chance to be downtown and enjoy the chaos after the Jays win game 2 & hopefully the Leafs are on game 2 of their next winning streak.
🙂

Participantng for so stop caring about that lol
And as much as I hate to say this the truth is simple. Once his contract is coming to an end he will be in his 30s, will no longer be able
To get everything as a bonus on July 1st and play for league minimum, and the leafs will have nothing really worth mentioning in development yet.I really hate to say this man but the leafs have 5 years tops before a rebuild will be needed. They’re already at a decade for this core, no upcoming good picks, prospects aren’t deep, and the core of this team will be 30+ VERY soon.
It’s going to feel like 2010 again before you know it.
So the Leaf victories we can cheer for will be that our goon beats up the other teams goon and we catch a great team on a back to back after 5 games in 6 nights and get a goaltending performance for the ages in a win?
Sign me up!
lol
I still remember the terrible Leafs team in 1983 beating the powerhouse Oilers and Bunny Larocque stopping the great one on a penalty shot.
lol

ParticipantI guess the “jinx” that the little mouth breathing incel claimed I put on the Jays worked – Jays to the World Series baby!
Bonus for me since my ticket connection came through and I’ll be in the 200 deck for game 1 at face value – because no shot I would drop the type of $ the resale market is asking for even nosebleeds that’s pure insanity!

Participanthumm,……
I see some post are gone.
Thanks Cush for the now gone post about the waived players.
A. Nylander. I though he signed an AHL contract again with the Marlies.
Wonder why my post was deleted?
McJesus signing or 2 years at far less than what he is worth to me is simply him saying to Edmonton’s brain trust “if you clowns can’t get me the supporting cast to win a cup I’m gone afterwards”.
Him taking a deep discount to allow them to do that is him really putting the pressure on the Oilers.
The fact his deal ends the same year as Matthews is wildly intriguing and will make for some heated chatter from almost all fanbases if neither of them extend very early before that deal is done. I can already hear the chirping about how both Canadian markets are going to lose their captains etc……
lol

ParticipantStay Classy, Rob.
How do you feel about being one of the main contributors to the fall of Hockeybuzz, Rob?
You talking about being classy is pretty funny coming from the guy who has created user names to pretend to be others both here and on HB, challenged someone to a fist fight but only if that person drove to him and just generally posts garbage non stop on whatever forum he’s on.
It’s flattering that you think I have or had that much influence on a website, anyone who has spent any time there knows it’s people like you who drove users away and just annoyed everyone who stayed endlessly. Why aren’t you posting there under your actual username or one of your alts? Are they all still banned?
Banned by others I might add not just me when I was a big mean mod who you claim had it out for you all the while you sending me PM’s asking me to team up with you in your epic battle against Joel (who was and continues to school you non-stop). The fact you were trying to get me to side with you just shows how truly desperate and clueless you are.
But sure – you are super classy & everyone should strive to be half as classy as you are.
Thanks for the Friday morning laugh.

Minnesota is a highly taxed state, nearly the same as Alberta total (46.5% in Minnie and 48% in Alberta, still better than Ontario’s 53.53% thanks Dougie) so I’m guessing that’s why it was so high. Still it’s over a $9 mill take home, I know it’s not the nicest place to live but damn, $2 mill more of a take home than Marner to keep him there? Yikes.- Dozzer[/quote]Thank god the Leafs didn’t overpay to keep Marner like this.
The fact there is only one poster who spews his garbage on here daily about how the Leafs should have overpaid Marner (who by the way didn’t want to stay anyway) simply shows the vast majority of Leaf fans are fine with the Leafs not making this same type of mistake with Marner.
And to preemptively respond to the “Marner left because of the fans, media, crime blah blah blah” – suck it up buttercup. Marner is the poster child for spoiled, soft kids. He has been told his entire life he was special and better than everyone else and when he wasn’t he took his ball and ran away to somewhere new where they told him what he wanted to hear.
Great player but spoiled brat.
If he was a pro athlete in a single person sport with the talent he has he may have had far more success but he’s not built to be a team player and it became more and more obvious as his time in Toronto came to an end.
