I read a proposed deal with Pittsburg.
Maple Leafs Acquire:Bryan Rust ($5,125,000)
Rickard Rakell ($5,000,000)Penguins Acquire:
Nick Robertson ($1,825,000)
Jake McCabe ($4,491,898)
Matias Maccelli ($3,425,000)
Easton Cowan ($873,500)It would be hard for me to do this deal. So I would not do it.
So. What do they need to add to Robertson in a deal for Rickard Rakell? Kampf for salary, Hildeby and the first 2028? Not sure they have the assets for it without giving up Cowan which would likely be a mistake.
I don’t think the Leafs should give a 1st for Rakell. For me at most, is 2nd depending who is being moved.

Honestly, it feels like he hired some company to re-design the site and ha paid little attention to it.
In fact, I don’t think he has paid much attention to it at all. He literally makes up stuff and posts it once in a while. The forums were pretty much all the site had that was compelling. There was not much value in the bloggers.

The chance has been taken, since they can’t trade him while on arbitration.
I though the same thing. They can trade anytime except if they turn down the arbitrator decision then he becomes a UFA and cannot trade his rights.
I can’t imagine the arbitrator only granting $1.2M.
Seems like the Leafs are being stingy.

I think 1.4M for Nicky is good 1 yr deal IMHO.
