with Marner blocking a trade to Carolina, would he sign a contract with them as a UFA?
Carolina has about 30M in cap space.

My gawd the leagues has ruined any momentum they had for the finals with the long break and the upcoming schedule is even worse.
Next game tomorrow, ok good thats normal.
Game 3 Monday? WTF
Game 4 Thursday? Jesus
Game 5 Saturday – ok back to normal
Game 6 Tuesday 17th – Jesus
Game 7 on JUNE 20th!!!! WTF..

you gotta face it, Marner will NOT be back with the Leafs.
Don’t forget Karlsson was hurt at the beginning of last season and missed like 30+ games.
When healthy, Karlsson can put up point on the board.

I just can’t picture Bennett or Marchand signing with the Leafs. Especially Bennett, why would he leave Florida?!? Their window is WIDE open, and they’re set up to be a problem for at least next year as well.

Bennett resigns the same contract as Verhaeghe, 7M cap hit for 8 yrs.
Ekblad going want 8.5M cap hit on an 8 year contract.
they got just over 18M in cap space. and those two contracts gobble it up pretty darn quick.
someone on the current Panther roster is not going to be back with the team.
