ParticipantMangiapane, Emberson, a prospect and 2026 2nd rnd pick for McMann
Would you do this trade?
Nope and I know Mangiapane personally.
Leafs need 1st round picks, not more projects.
a 2nd and a prospect is the minimum ask for McMann
Mangiapane is a cap dump and Emberson is the payment to take on that contract. The Leafs can do 1 yr with Mangiapane or buy him out, send him to the Marlies

ParticipantThis management team reminds me of a third world country. Slow to move and uncompetitive in a competitive market. Action is required before the Olympic break. One goalie not named Hildiby, should be moved. Woll should stay because he’s younger, so Stolarz should be good for a first. Edmonton, Vegas, Carolina and Montreal should be teams that could come calling sooner than later. Even Matthews should be dangled, but Nylander and his childish behavior needs to be extricated first. But knowing the Leafs, they’ll procrastinate and will be holding the bag at the trade deadline. One other thing that they could do is take on an LTIR contract from another team, giving them cap relief for a prospect or a draft pick.
yeah Nylander isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. Just like Rielly his NMC will slap you in the face.
I guess you did not like Nylander flipping the bird eh! to the TSN camera.dmnted

ParticipantTo bad for the Leafs the NHL change the salary retention policy other wise the Leafs could of gotten some extra picks with that cap space.
Oh, really? What changes were made?
Word was Joshua would be skating before the Olympic break, so what’s the benefit for the Leafs to put him on LTIR? Opens up a roster spot or something?
if you do a double retention, then is has to be done 2 or 3 month in advance err something like that.
So if you trade for player A, the team can only retain like 50% of the player salary. You can longer include a 3rd team for retention unless it’s a few month prior.dmnted
ParticipantSo the Leafs have placed Joshua and Tanev on to the LTIR. That’s 7M extra in potential cap space.
WE’RE BUYERS, BABY!!!!!

Participantremeber what the last time the Leafs traded a D to Detroit. A D who was ran out town ……
they won the cup.really who cares, just trade with whoever gives you the best deal.
Leafs are 7 points up on bottom 5 of the League, just bail on this season. they suck
Oh I was just saying if that trade did occur, Detroit could do a repeat when they got Murphy.

ParticipantFirst up, move a goalie. Stolarz is the first up, for a first. There are teams on the bubble, that could make a run, with an established goaltender. Second up, Rielly…..just get out already! Time’s up! McMann, next up. The Oil could come calling for all 3, but that better be a defenseman coming back and 2 firsts. If the Oil looks at it properly, a Conference Final means 1st rounder at the end of the round. Next Robertson, if there’s a taker for a 2nd, do so. Willy next. Enough of his childish ways. A top 10 prospect and a second. If not a 1st and a second. Maccelli, 7th rounder, goodbye. Any 3rd or 4th liners that’ll get you a second, do so. Time to take an LTIR contract off someone’s cap for a draft pick or a player we can use. Fire the Coaching Staff. There….fixed!
You know Rielly has a NMC. So you are waisting your resource saying he needs to be moved. Even if he’s from out west, I think his wife would have a say on the move.
McMann to be moved would cost at least a minimum 2nd rnd pck and a propect. Perhaps you could squeaze a 1st out the Oilers.
I do agree they need to sell off some assets.dmnted
ParticipantSo, looking at potential trading partners for the Leafs, Detroit seems like the perfect fit to extract draft capital in return for the Leafs veterans.
Top of the list will be OEL. It’s pretty obvious that OEL would love to be on a contender, at worst, a playoff team and Detroit is at worst a playoff team and at best a contender if they make upgrades. OEL probably had some sentimental pull towards Toronto given the legends Salming and Sundin. He may have the same pull to Detroit which had Lidstrom and many other Swedish legends of the 90s.
Detroit has a lot of cap space to fit OEL without salary coming back to the Leafs. But the Leafs could afford to take back Gustafsson at 2 AAV to fill the ice time left by OEL. Detroit has not got the offensive production they had hoped when they signed Gustavsson that OEL has clearly provided for a bad Leafs team on a relatively cheap contract. Gustafsson could be given ice time to rebuild value and traded in the future as he has been a deadline rental many times before.
I could see Detroit wanting not only OEL but also a RHD like Carlo. Detroit is said to be looking for a RHD and Carlo could fit their needs as he would not be used as a top pair D. Again, they have a lot of cap space to make it happen.
The Leafs might be able to get a pair of 1st round picks for OEL and Carlo from Detroit.
Other candidates that could be moved to Detroit would be McMann, Roy and Laughton. I could easily see Detroit paying a 1st or a prospect for any of them for an attempt at a playoff run. The same could be said for Montreal and now Buffalo. I would gladly trade all 3 of them to Detroit, Buffalo and Montreal for a 1st round pick each.

Participantthat’s because what fan do, the beleafs in the team they support.
so there is nothing wrong with that.
You just lost faith in this team a long time ago.No, fans don’t have to have retarded blind faith to be fans, they just choose to have blind faith and use it as a excuse for the failures of the franchise. This franchise needs less blind fan boy homers and more people to hold them accountable.
I lost my faith in this team and it was justified. You had blind faith in this team and they burned you again. It’s like you have a kid with a heroin addiction and you keep buying him needles. That analogy explains why there are so many libtard Leafs fans.
no need to shit on the Fans who do have faith in this team because you lost faith in the current Leafs team.

ParticipantNope. I had Beleafs in this team up until yesterday.
you just like to shit on them.Exactly. You BeLeafed in this shit team. I did not. So you were wrong and I was right.
Calling them out for what they are is only “shitting on them” to a homer such as yourself. In reality, it’s accurate criticism of a franchise run by morons and financially supported by emotional retards.

ParticipantHow was I wrong when I did not make any predictions like you did.
You didn’t think this dog shit team was going to make the playoffs week after week of me telling you they weren’t good enough? You’re just lying.
You’re definitely wrong for saying I just throw shit at the wall because I have clearly identified the multitude of flaws with this team at various stages of this season, time and time again.
