So I’m just looking things over and here’s a little interest.

    Maccelli: $3.43 million (40P estimate)
    Roy: $3 million (30P estimate)

Find another guy for $3 million who can dump 30P in and bang, there’s Marner’s 100P replaced for $9.43 million while offering far more balanced scoring.

It’s starting to look like the leafs are looking to use short term contracts this year unless it’s a core guy. As it stands 5 forwards are done after this year. I won’t be shocked if that’s all the leafs do to fill out the roster because there is nothing they currently see available that they consider a long term solution.

You know an interesting thing . . . has anyone seen any of the Leafs players post farewells to Marner? Knies reposted the Leafs PR release. Usually teammates post emotional farewells to their friends and I haven’t seen anyone say anything about it.

I’m not saying they wanted it to happen or that they’re happy it did – but it doesn’t feel like anyone is all that devastated that he left. I find that a little strange. I don’t think he was a problem in the room – but maybe some of that yelling he was doing at the team while he was also flailing and failing was just wearing a little too thin.

I heard him chatting with the guys on sportsnet today and he mentioned everyone on the team and didn’t bring him up once. It’s sounding like Marner isn’t being missed.

Friedman suggests that Naz interested in coming home. Would probably cost more than those two

    Toss Maccelli in there? ????

I think getting Kadri back would be a fucking stunner move. #93 this time too. Perfect time for him to bring the Cup experience and Cup home. Didn’t really want him to leave in the first place.

Tavares can take the draws, or teach him cuz he’s a 48.7%, but then let him do the center role and dish some sauce to WIlly and JT, while JT catches his breath on the D side ???? (I know they’re the same age)

    Knies, Matthews, Domi/Marcelli
    Tavares, Kadri, Nylander
    McMann, Roy, Marcelli/Domi
    Lorentz, Laughton, Pezz

    McCabe, Tanev
    Reilly, Carlo
    Benoit, OEL

    Stoli
    Woll

Fuck ya. That team can hurt and score. I’m in!!!

Can’t do 93’ but he’d want 91’ anyways and I think JT at C on that line and Kadri out as the winger. JT has the faceoffs and the front of net work down and Kadri does board work beautifully when it comes to some of their personal strengths.

AW: Nikky Bobby is an RFA. They could just not qualify him I guess?

I thought he got a qualifying offer?

The good news might be that at these numbers we might get a 7th rounder for Kampf and Jarnkrok!!

I’m at the point where I’d be cool with giving one away for someone just to take them lol

Kings are going for it next year.

There will be nothing left for the Queefs but table scraps lol

Well they signed Perry so they’re about to lose to a team from the East in the finals no? lol

Yeah, they need a balanced top 9, so moving Nylander to 1RW doesn’t make a ton of sense there.

Almost wondering if Nick Robertson stays now, plays with Roy on the 3rd line.

I won’t even pretend to know what the aim is, truly curious to see what the re-shaping will be.

A more balanced forward group is the target, it won’t look as special, but it will be more stable on the back end is my guess.

I think inherently I’d question Domi’s ability to hold down a top-6 job all season. This said, I’m not sure what credentials Maccelli brings to the table to get that promotion into a top-6 role either.

Ya, Tanev’s a good candidate ..and he “might” come at a team friendly number if he’s zero’d in on playing with his brother.

If Ehlers won’t take a good number to come here then ya, I think you just zero in a good middle/bottom six types and you can go with a roster like yours.

Although I’m staying persistent on my take that 88 should be with 34.

    Domi-Matthews-Nylander
    Knies-JT-Maccelli/McMann[/quote]

Problem with that is both Nylander and Matthews are both the primary shooters of the line. And both JT and Knies are the front of net guys. Whoever will be on the alternate wings just needs to be a half decent setup guy.

So the Marner Maple Leaf socks are still rolling along at $24.99 on Amazon… damn… I wonder how long this will take to kick in?

    Ditto for me

And no initials, those two brothers are pretty similar looking, the confusion on the opposition’s faces would be worth it lol

I’ll be interested to see what Tre does today. So far everything he’s done on trades is for 1 year. Keeping his cap space open for next year.

I don’t mind that, it’s not the most stellar free agency so he may be doing this deliberately, looking at trades through the season or hoping that certain players reach free agency next year?

The primary thing will be focused on building up the secondary portion of the forward group is my guess. They stopped spending it all on star forwards and it’s time to spread it out.
