ParticipantOh a “real fan”, not this again….lol.
Watching a team that continually fails, shows they simply don’t care and aren’t inept enough to build anything close to a winner decade in and decade out. Gets kinda boring no? At least for me it has (and many others I know), and as I’ve gotten older I simply have other things to spend my time and energy on.
I mean its just sports entertainment, so no real impact on our lives anyway (unless you work in the field). But I would say with the leafs, it is all about winning…this isnt a rebuilding team (well it may be forced to be), its why tre blew two 1st rounders on a 4th line center and a 4th dman. Cause it was all about winning. Honestly, this team would be more fun to watch if they did have this years 1st rounder.
I could easily watch (and have) a young developing team….but this isnt it.
This is just a sad, sad team with no real direction, again. However, as we leafers always say, “there is always next year”.
Damn you leafs lol.
😩 *you* lol
Are you seriously that emotionally attached to a sports team? I’m not. However I still support the positives on the team and yes they still have a small handful. Cowan, Robertson, Woll, etc for instance are examples.
Anyways life is a teeter-totter. If you’re going to enjoy the high spot you have to go through the low spot as well, otherwise you’re just one of those modern day brat kids who are spoiled as fuck (literally what I saw coming as a teen in the 90s hence why I was smart enough to never get married or have kids) who are always kept on the high spot and wonder why they’re numb and life is “boring” lol.
Seriously, “be a winner or you’re not worth my time” just makes you a spoiled fan who just isn’t a true fan and I’ll never see it otherwise.
Cheers.

ParticipantPeople still watch leafs games?
Pourquoi?Yes? It’s called being a real fan, you go through both the highs and lows or you’re a fake fan who only likes the good times, the end.
Besides, there are still young guys developing in the lineup to watch, not everything is about winning.
Cheers.

ParticipantThat was supposed to say attached not attacked but yet again this site won’t let me edit a post 😐 lol

ParticipantMeh, we’ve heard the matthews is leaving thing before, all conjecture.
Supper time is the perfect time to watch a hockey game as a kid, Im sure some of the coyotes games were actually on at that time. He’s the captain of the leafs, during good and bad times. Its good for him to go through some bad times as the captain, this is where we will really see what he’s made of.
He’s not a fan of Berube, so the leafs will probably have a new coach this off season. But lets be serious, this will be the first year in Matthews career that he wont be in the playoffs, thats a good run for him.
Also, Matthews has 1 goal in the past 15 games, he’s 36th in goals scores this season, 61st in points….so he wears some of the results as well.Tre really screwed the leafs with trading those 1st, I didnt like the moves then…absolutely hate them now.
The Leafs are leafing!I think you believe hockey players are attacked to their teams emotionally far more than they are.
His favourite team was the coyotes, stayed watching their games when he was 2, with fav players like Doan and Brière. He’s a western boy, the end.
Even Sundin left the leafs, and the leafs have next to nothing in their prospect pool, next to no picks coming up, and basically nothing young to trade for some desperately needed younger D that’s stuck with Rielly who is collapsing talent wise til when they’re willing to hold onto some of his salary to move him.
Sorry, I highly doubt Matthews will stick around for what will turn around into another rebuild. This team won’t be looking good enough by July 1 2028 so move him 364 days earlier.

ParticipantAnd Toronto is getting somewhat cheered again lol

ParticipantTerrible timing on pulling the goalie 😂

ParticipantAnother game that’s barely watchable. This team is gutless. I thought the Kessel/Phaneuf years were the year of gutlessness. This is worse. The Leafs have two elite forwards and decent goaltending. But there is no heart, no compete, just playing out the string. What’s bothersome is the idea that they can’t be traded. Rielly, Matthews, Nylander…..can’t trade me if I don’t want to go. Buyouts are too expensive on these guys and the team should be shopping them after this season. This can’t go on any longer. Treliving and Burube are dead men walking. It’s not pretty.
Thankfully the ones who “can’t” be traded are simply the ones who get to “decide where” they get traded. Ontario is high attention, high taxation, high media intensity. They’ll all take a trade to an ideal place, the answer to a Toronto NMC isn’t “nowhere?”, it’s “how many specific locations please?” lol

ParticipantHave a nice third leafs… prove you can start it with a decent pk 👍
