Marner was offered 8 x 13.5m according to dregs by the leafs.
Damn i wish he was traded to the canes.
Hed be in the conference finals by now.
Marner is gone.
Was not able to sleep last night, feels empty, angry and disappointed.
It takes couple of days to recover from such events.
But tomorrow will be another day and pain will go away.

Fortunately i was not invested in this team this year. Didnt even watch game 5 or 7, watched a bit of game 6.With Matthews as captain, marner as an A, i simply dont expect much from this team.
They’ve traded away 1st rounders like crazy, one for a 3rd line center.
Team is screwed for a while. ImoWhy do people say to get rid of Matthews? I bet you’d take McKinnon on your team though right? The guy has gotten out of the second round ONCE in his career and that was when he won a cup.
He also made the playoffs once in his first 4 years. Has been to the second round more than Matthews though. Regardless the point is, you don’t throw the baby out with the bath water. Keep the top centerman

ParticipantOh then you’re right. Sure they won last night but nothing changes if they lose (no matter how they lose in game 7). Sure I wouldn’t be “upset” at the game specifically if it was a 1 goal loss in 2nd OT. But it wouldn’t stop me from moving Marner, Firing Shanny, etc. Whatever other major changes need to be done.
Agreed. They need to get deep into the 3rd round if there are any thoughts of keeping this group together.

I think the important parts the leafs should take away from last night were that they were able to play a close checking game, shut down Florida PP and all their offense.We can shit on the leafs all we want but they have done a good job of shutting down their top guys for the most part this series.
Agreed. But they have to do again. Leafs have been great in one offs, need consistency over more than one game.
