I’m fine with Matthews going to the White House to meet the POTUS. Its a once in a lifetime opportunity, NO ONE has the right to judge him for it.

A rapist invites you over to a house they believe is theirs and you are fine with going.

Cool.

hey look at that the Jays trade for a LH bat with some power.
nice buy low deal on Jesus Sanchez, maybe they can unlock a bit more power like with Barger.

*waits for loser reply complaining about stupid shit
This seems like a good trade for the present. He averages 14 – 18 HR’s per season, he’s an upgrade defensively, he’s cheap (1.3 WAR) and under control for a bit.
Loperfido wasnt may not have gotten as much playing time now but in the future could become something decent (Current WAR is 0.6).

Good trade for the Jays.

So I was reading a blurb on the Leafs and a possible trade partner in the LA Kings.
It was Laughton for Foegele +. If the + is a 1st rnd pick, I’d strongly consider moving him.
For me, I’d rather move Roy instead of Laughton.
Getting Foegele might/could happen if the Leafs trade McMann. Foegele could be used as replacement for McMann.

How much do you think McMann will cost?
Foegele is at about $3.5m, is Mcmann gonna much more than that? If so, ya move him out.
However, if he wants $4m, Id take mcmann over Foegele.

But Im not attached to anyone on this team, so move whoever.

All I can say is this: Leafs just need to win every game that they possibly can. It’s obvious that they’re not finishing in the bottom 5. They only have a 25% chance of making the playoffs. They have to hold off Florida and catch either Boston or Buffalo. As the season gets later, the 3 point games will be telling, when it’s time to make a playoff push. The other only reason is, to deny the Bruins a higher 1st round pick that the Leafs traded to them. Giving them a top 10 pick would be disaster. Finishing outside of a playoff spot would make it around 14 or 15. Too many Western teams will have a worse record. The problem is, Florida and Ottawa are also close to the Leafs. They need to get some picks through trades and still be competitive down the stretch. Finish strong and rebound through free agency and having a healthier roster next year.

I agree the leafs are not taking it down to the studs at all and probably wont finish in the bottom 5. Matthews and Nylander are not going anywhere, and if they had to go, teams wouldnt offer much in return and the amount of teams that could take on their contracts are very limited – these are not in season trades and they simply are not happening.
The Leafs may get a 1st for McMann and OEL, but not getting a 1st for anyone else that would be trade bait (Domi, Laughton, marcelli)
This isnt a video game, its reality. Leafs arent doing a full rebuild and getting 10 1st rounders LOL

Cowan has been sitting because he’s the one guy not for sale. ELC guaranteed NHLer is literally the only thing the leafs won’t give up. Yup, prices are up and down depending on who, but anyone else is tradeable.
No matter what happens after the Olympics, the leafs cannot be buyers.

Move out Mcmann, Domi and Marcelli for sure.
Re-sign laughton, depending on what he wants.
If you are blown away with a package for OEL, trade him. Otherwise they will be looking a similar D in the off season not sure they’ll find one as cheap.

The Leafs arent going scorched earth, they dont have their own 1st this year and next (thanks to horrible trades by Tre again). Heck, if they go .500 in the 6 games prior to the deadline I think they only trade Mcmann.

But we’ll see.

what a pile of loser energy this unhinged goalie guy is, just a miserable online life.

go Jays! should be another fun season.

Truly a pathetic basement dweller, whines about everything. His parents must have hated him…or they’re douches like him.
Valdez seems like a shitty person, that stunt he did with his rookie catcher simply shouldnt happen. I dont think the Jays really went all in on valdez, they simply kicked tires and ultimately he got really overpaid.
With how high the Jays payroll currently is you’d have to be a moron to think they were going to add another $40m to it for position they are already really good in.

Panarin to the Kings.

Had the leafs acquired him, it would have costed a 1st and cowan.

Nice road trip.
But still DO NOT acquire any players at the deadline
Unload McMann, Domi, and Marcelli.
I like McMann, but maybe we get a 2nd + for him.
I doubt Tre is good enough to get a 1st for him.

Yes some players do waive their NMC but Tessa likes it here in Toronto, so he ain’t waiving his NMC.
I believe PA-neuf had a NMC/NTC and his wife Elisha liked it here and he waived.

Its possible, its just that moving him when he’s terrible means the leafs will not only have to eat salary (kinda against the point), have to add a sweetener and will get garbage back.
Im fine with getting nothing back, but I dont want to retain (maybe a million max) and we dont have any picks or prospects that we can add as a sweetener.

The leafs are in a real bad spot…… but at least they dont have $13.5m wrap up in soft reg season player (outside of matthews)….they have some flexibility at the end of the season.

Glad to see the leafs can at least beat teams that are crappier than they are.
This is a good sign…I believe.

With Marner, 24% PP, 1st in the division.

Without Marner, 17% PP (thanks Steve Sullivan for saving the day), dead last in the division.

It’s not correct because I say it. I say it because it’s correct. The facts are the facts and they don’t give a fuck about your feelings.
You seem to be the only one who’s feelings are hurt cause your soft as ice cream center of your circle jerk left cause he wanted to.

The leafs got extremely lucky last year, a lot went right for them.
This year, injuries have plagued the team.
Even with Marner, this team would out of a playoff spot, as we know, marner disappears during big games. We’ve seen it for 9 years.

Also, enough with the BS that marner would have taken less or taken this, you have no clue what he wanted or would have taken.
What we do KNOW, he was offered a great deal, he turned it down. We also do know that mid season, his was interested in vegas.

Move on. Quit whining.
He’s gone. Get over it.
This team wasnt great with him and they arent great without him. He wasnt the only problem with this team, but he was part of it.
Get over it.

I remember when Minten was trade many didnt mind it cause he was only going to be a 4th/3rd liner.

Well.

So far, he’s played a couple of games on the top line for boston.
Has 16pts in 15 games.

Damn

Anyone who thinks the Leafs would not be in the playoffs with Marner is retarded.

They won the division last year. He had 103 points. Just his PP contributions alone would have propelled the Leafs into the playoffs. He literally proved it last year. And his defensive game would prevent a lot of goals.
AGAIN…everything well perfectly for the leafs to win the division last year.
The opposite has happened this year.
The players who have replaced marner, combined have more point than he does so far this year. He probably gives the leafs 1 …maybe 2 more wins…maybe. Cause they would have less depth.

They would still be out of the playoffs.
You are too brain dead and narrow minded to see reality.

The team would still be out of playoff spot with Marner in the line up.
Anyone who thinks otherwise, is just foolish.
