ParticipantThe Washington Capitals have acquired forward Jordan Kyrou from the St. Louis Blues for forwards Connor McMichael and Milton Gastrin and Washington’s first-round pick (16th overall) in the 2026 NHL Draft.
More evidence the Leafs would get a great return on their most valuable pieces.
Ya, not 6-7 1st rounders stupid.
Washington gets a couple of ok players and 16th.
No one ever said Nylander and matthews wouldn’t bring a decent return.
But the leafs arent rebuilding…THEY DONT HAVE THE NEXT 2 YEARS OF THEIR 1ST ROUNDERS.
For the dummy in the back-

ParticipantThis isnt GM mode on the PS5….why the hell would the leafs retain a minimum of 12$ of wasted cap space? Who is giving up 6 -7 1st rounders? Thats so fucking stupid and unrealistic.
Also, the leafs do not have their 1st rounders for the next two years and they need players to fill the line up….they cant sell off everyone.Get back to reality
Was Ottawa playing GM mode on PS5 when they traded Tkachuk for 3 1st round picks? Was Carolina playing GM mode when they got 3 1st round picks for Rantanen?
Sorry dipshit but players get traded in the NHL and guys like Matthews and Nylander would be worth a lot with 50% retained. Contenders are giving up a lot of draft capital, young roster players and top prospects for pieces at the deadline. Happens every single year. You’re just too stupid to know it or remember. The Leafs could rebuild their entire roster by selling off their biggest assets.
Yes, if the Leafs suck this year, miss the playoffs or even lose in the 1st round again, they absolutely can and should sell off everyone. Bringing in a dozen 1st round picks is way more valuable than worrying about the 1st they traded away.
Reality is, this team sucks and needs to be rebuilt if you want to win a Cup. If you want to keep watching them lose when it matters, keep burying your head in the sand.
Dummy, 2-3 late round picks (one was the 9th) is a far cry from 6-7 1st rounders.. youre just too stupid to tell.
Fakepartofme
ParticipantSan jose now have the 2nd and 9th pick.
Id offer one knies or willie for both or matthews for both plus.

ParticipantWith Florida bulking up, the Leafs better take this in consideration when they make a deal. Yes, the Leafs have to get younger, but they need to get harder to play against. Move off of Robertson and Maccelli. They’re just guys who score when the game is out of reach, either way.
Honestly, B Tkafack isnt that effective imo. He’ll be injured soon enough.
Fakepartofme
ParticipantMatthews and Nylander with 50% retained along with everything else of value the Leafs have could bring in 12-15 1st round picks.
The UFA class is ripe for overpayment, as the Leafs already did with Raddysh. The Leafs best bet is to load up on defensive forwards for the bottom six, specifically FO winning experts. You use them exclusively in the D-Zone so Matthews and Tavares don’t ever have to play defense. If the season goes south, you sell off everybody like they did with Roy, Laughton, McMann etc.
ParticipantI remember seeing so many say it was the end of world when Bo left….OKA has been a nice replacement for half the price.

ParticipantI read an interseting trade proposal
To Buffalo: Knies
To Toronto: ByramI guess if Buffalo can’t resign Tuch, Knies is the next best thing for them.
Hard pass for me.
The Leafs have been looking for a player like knies for years….and will be if traded.Keep him for now.

ParticipantThings go from 0 to retarded pretty much every time you post – just like your bullshit made up stat was proven to be just that bullshit and made up when you claimed Raddysh will go “back to being a -10” and yet he’s never been anywhere near a -10.
Ug whines about everything….everything.
Raddysh will be what the leafs need for the next 5 years, a Dman that can score from anywhere and has big shot from the point.Fakepartofme
ParticipantAm i reading this right, the Leafs have $18M in cap space AFTER the Raddysh signing?!??!
Yup.
They had around $27m or so prior.
More if the unload MorganFakepartofme
ParticipantSo i just did an emergency homework on raddish
some good
right shot
Has a booming shot from the point, scored the 3 hardest shot goals last season 97-100mph
underlying stats are good/very good, so not totally a flukesome bad
partner with jj moser who a lot are saying is a big reason for his explosion
the pair had a lot of puck luck, will be regression
its very high risk high reward
very similar to Brandon Montour in Fla, then Krakenimo he is likely to land as a 3ish D, maybe a tweener from top pair to middle. 8+ish x 8 is a big gamble.
First off…..Massive win for Canada last night….great game, great atmosphere at the pub.
Its free agent season, so long term overpayments are what we can expect. If the leafs can build a good system, than Raddysh should continue to succeed. The leafs have to move the puck much faster on the PP and out of their zone.
$8m per is high but he thats what he would have made as an FA. 8 years is long, but in 4 years time, and $8m contract wont look or hurt as much as it once did.
This should be a decent deal for the first 5 years imo.
Now they gotta move out Morgan
But Raddysh, Tanev, OEL, Carlo, McCabe and Andrae doesnt look bad….if tanev can stay healthyFakepartofme
ParticipantI see the local women hating PEDO is polluting this board with his whining too.
“everything is bad, WHINE WHINE WHINE”.
Canada is succeeding….drives the traitor nuts.Fakepartofme
ParticipantHiller oversaw the Leafs PP when he was last here.
The leafs were 2nd best in the league for two years
8th for one year. So, not bad. Hopefully he can improve the current horrible pp.

ParticipantMore? We’re no longer in Trudeau’s NDP wearing red liberal government lol. This year they were decreased in funding by nearly $200 million. I’m willing to bet that after the first season without the NHL we will see Carney, a true businessman liberal (like or hate him), will begin to cut it even harder. I won’t mind, I don’t watch anything else on that station.
It should have been defunded long ago. It’s just a propaganda mouthpiece for the Federal Government and their woke culture is an abomination.
Wrong. CBC was leaning conservative prior to Carney. The CBC isnt controlled by the feds
Most media outlets are owned by conservative or repubes. Alot owned by yanks
Anything postmedia – yanks
National post, Ottawa citizen, the garbage toronto and vancouver suns, the herald and gazette. The fact that you used the term “woke culture” simply proves you really dont know what you are talking about.

ParticipantLeafs traded Woll and Benoit to Philly for Emil Andrae, Samuel Ersson and a 3rd. Discuss.
I dont mind the trade. Leafs get cap space, move out an often injured goalie and get a younger more mobile dman.
Although i did like Benoit.
Time for changes.Fakepartofme
ParticipantVegas stats with Mitch Marner on the ice while facing elimination in Game 6 (at 5 on 5):
Offensive zone faceoff %: 80% (!!)
Shots for: 0
Shots against: 8Expected goals: 13.47% (!!)
Goal differential: -2
For hockey casuals, a translation:
Vegas started in the offensive zone 80 PERCENT of the time Marner was on the ice. That’s called “sheltered deployment.”
Despite that, his team literally registered 0 shots on goal in his 14:37 on the ice at even strength.
Numbers this bad are HARD to achieve.
Guess how many other Vegas players weren’t on the ice for a single Vegas shot on goal in Game 6?
That’s right! Zero.
Were any other Vegas players on the ice for all 3 Carolina goals against?
Nope! Just Marner.
Marner had a good playoffs, nothing like he ever did in Toronto except…..the final 3 games of the Cup, he had 1 pt and was completely invisible in game 5.
Games got big….he got small.still not worth $14m the leafs offered him.
He should have accepted the trade to the canes….would be a cup winner right now. -
