Jays blow another series.
Injuries have really hampered jays this year (the pitchers that were on the IL most of the season are better than a couple other teams starting 5) but vlad being complete garbage has cost the jays at least 4 wins. That contract could be more trouble than initially thought.Interested to see the leafs first reg season game, its been years since they have had a team worth watching.
New coach, new system, Mckenna, finally a shot from the point, improved D and what looks to be a true bottom 6.
Should be fun.
Also Kawhi with the raps, the Toronto sports scene should very interesting this fall/winter.Should be fun.
Go Leafs GoTerrible idea to put McKenna with Tavares and Nylander. I know he lives with Tavares but that line will be a defensive disaster.
They appear to want to make McKenna “earn it” and his carrot being dangled is playing with Matthews but logically McKenna and Matthews is the only thing that makes sense for both of them.
McKenna needs a center that can defend which is definitely not Tavares and is definitely Matthews. And Matthews needs passes.
Roslovic is Matthews’ buddy from his USNTD days but he fucking sucks. Top line minutes will be wasted on him.

The Jays were never going to sign both Tucker and Bo….never. Bo wanted out, he wanted to be a big free agent….and he wasnt until the one desperate team with deep pockets decided to drastically overpay him and now they are thinking of moving on from him. (Neither Tucker or Bo would have helped the Jays this year – $60m for tuckers 7 HR’s or $45 for Bo’s 10? No thanks)

Springer was never going to repeat what he did last year, thats fine, but barger, vlad, clement, lukas have all taking steps back. Santander continues to be one of the worse signing in sports history and barger just cant get it together health wise.
Everything went right for 80% of the season last year, and everything has gone wrong for 100% of the season this year.
Sell all FA’s for anything, get under that tax threshold

Sorry dipshit but players get traded in the NHL and guys like Matthews and Nylander would be worth a lot with 50% retained. Contenders are giving up a lot of draft capital, young roster players and top prospects for pieces at the deadline. Happens every single year. You’re just too stupid to know it or remember. The Leafs could rebuild their entire roster by selling off their biggest assets.
Yes, if the Leafs suck this year, miss the playoffs or even lose in the 1st round again, they absolutely can and should sell off everyone. Bringing in a dozen 1st round picks is way more valuable than worrying about the 1st they traded away.
Reality is, this team sucks and needs to be rebuilt if you want to win a Cup. If you want to keep watching them lose when it matters, keep burying your head in the sand.

Matthews and Nylander with 50% retained along with everything else of value the Leafs have could bring in 12-15 1st round picks.
The UFA class is ripe for overpayment, as the Leafs already did with Raddysh. The Leafs best bet is to load up on defensive forwards for the bottom six, specifically FO winning experts. You use them exclusively in the D-Zone so Matthews and Tavares don’t ever have to play defense. If the season goes south, you sell off everybody like they did with Roy, Laughton, McMann etc.[/quote]
