No one ever watches it, even the highlights on TSN are burried.

This is not gonna help get people interested…

However, if Claude Julien is fired as an assistant by the Blues before the tournament starts, will MB fire Therien and hire Julien?

That is the only thing that might make this whole thing interesting.

might as well call Jacques Martin and have all of those old recycled coaches fight it out in a battle to the death (or to the dett as Therrien would say…).

    Recipe for success.

well, considering the tournament is about blue-collar 4th-line grinders, I expect them to actually do very well.

Marc Bergevin named GM of Team Canada for the Spengler cup, and he nominated Michel Therrien as coach lol

Kid should just go out there and play his game.

This is a no pressure situation, as you said, he is playing before expected – honestly, did not expect him to play in Montreal unless there were significant goalie injuries except for a game or two at the end of the year (if the playoffs were secure).

Hopefully he has a good game and a gets a few more starts while Dobes and Monty get their shit together.

yeah, I know there’s always talk about potentially bringing up a player too early and messing up his development, but as you’re pointing out I doubt this will be the case for him, apparently he’s very solid between the ears (he needs to be if he wants to be a goalie in MTL lol) and he’s probably seeing this as a huge opportunity, so it should turn out to be a very postive experience rather than some kind of test that he needs to pass right away…

    Fowler tonight.

the context in which he’s getting called up kinda sucks, because I don’t think we would’ve seen Fowler this early in the season had Montembeault and Dobes been playing well, but nonetheless I’m excited to see him play.

We may see Fowler soon enough.

I heard things were not looking so good for Beck down in laval, so Im not sure I would call him up then.

I know they were not going for the cup this season, but you should at least try to compete night in and night out, instead of losing 6-1 or 7-2 that often.

Monty has a bad season, but the team has issues left and right.

Too bad guys like Newhook and Dach went down and Ghule as well. The team was never the same after losing those 3.

yeah, Guhle is probably the one they’re missing the most right now…

I do not think there is enough Pizza in the world that would make him want to come back to Montreal.

actually his agent said he only had beef with one person (guess who that is lol) and that he’d be willing to come back.

is he good defensivly, is he a leader, could he bounce back, could he stabilize us, does he want to play here

All far more important questions than his current point total in my mind

All depends on the asking price but Veleno is fucking useless

well I guess he could help stabilize things defensively, but I’m not sure he’d make others around him play well consistently since he seems to have reverted to his old ways of not creating anything offensively… as for leadership, that’s great but I don’t think it’s what has been lacking with this current group.

I agree on Veleno though, the only time I think I saw him do anything useful was on the PK.

looking at the point total of a single bad start season is very Matthias Brunet of you

dude, 5pts in 29 games is pretty bad lol…

I know Danault was decent in MTL and had some good seasons in LA, but for 5.5M this year and the next, I just don’t understand why we wouldn’t be considering a whole bunch of other options before him.

personally I see Danault as a last-resort plan, and depending on what the kings are asking I probably wouldn’t even make the trade at all.

so according to sources Evans had been playing with a foot injury since Nov. 20th, but the habs are saying it’s for personal reasons lol.

Hearing Evans may be out for while, likely why Beck is up.

perhaps Evans had a lingering injury, which would explain why he wasn’t quite as efficient lately…

hopefully he isn’t out too long though, jfc.

geee, I wonder what could be done to improve that…

it’s hilarious how you seem to think all their problems would be solved playing strictly zone defense…

they made the playoffs playing a hybrid system, so we know that isn’t the issue.

mais t’en reviendras jamais, c’est clair

    hehehe

    Fowler won’t change much.

They need a better D core

they can’t rely on Fowler to be their saviour, that’s for sure, but he might bring some stability…

they need to play better and hold the fort until Guhle comes back. we know they can play well when they’re focused and aggressive on the forecheck, it’s the lack of consistency that’s killing them.
