They played a little taller with the Law on their side..
Even if neither of them play another game in the NHL, the WiFi Brother’s story is pretty amazing.
And they are just fun to watch out there, even if I cringe at some of the error OG WiFi makes at times… but having Flo-jack maybe takes the pressure a little off him to always feel like he has to be the one answering the bell or pushing the other team around. Maybe he can take a little step back and focus on his game a little – love his size, his toughness / hits, and he has a wicked show too.
yeah, there definitely was a different vibe with both brothers in the lineup on Saturday, sure it was against a clusterfuck of a team that is currently Toronto, but you could tell there was an extra jump in everybody’s game. awesome story indeed.
As you mentioned before Flo-jack was called up to basically play the same role he played in Laval. And he did just that. Tiem to see if he can keep it up and if he can, he can be on my team any day.
Roy was put in a position that is not similar to his role in Laval and he is not talented to steal a spot in the top 6 despite all the injuries t the Habs lineup.
So if Roy wants to make it in the NHL, he needs to figure out what type of bottom 6 player he is and learn how to play it, or he will just continually get passed up (ie: can he be a p-killer, more defensive, or whatever).
I really thought Roy was gonna surprise me a few years ago, but he just seems to be stagnating and not much, if any, improvement.
yeah, too bad for Roy, the kid does have potential but making the big league sure isn’t easy… he was sent down to Laval today, at least we know he’s in good hands with Pascal Vincent, perhaps they’ll be able to eventually work on his flaws and get him that extra edge he’s missing, who knows.
as for Florian, I get that he was asked to basically play the same role, but I still find it very impressive that he’s able to go from playing on the 4th line in the AHL to having sucb an impact at the NHL level… now it’ll be a matter of finding consistency and establishing his role.

Son effort a souvent été questionné même si je comprends ce que tu veux dire.
Kapanen a mérité son poste selon moi, avec un talent limité. C’est certain que de jouer au centre l’aide, mais Owen Beck est à laval et n’a pas été rappelé pour autant (à moins que j’ai manqué l’info).
Florian est un autre type de joueur, mais il avait la même mission que Roy et les autres rappelés : performer et justifier son rappel. Il devra jouer de cette façon de manière constante s’il veut demeurer dans le grand club.
Texier a été signé pour amener plus de compétition avec le CH, avec toutes les blessures. Les rappellés doivent en profiter et non pas devenir complaisants.
ouin, je suis bien d’accord avec ton évaluation des choses… au fond, peu importe la raison, Roy a tout simplement pas été capable de se démarquer, ce que Florian a été en mesure de faire.

I get what you’re saying, but I still think that’s because of the type of player they are, Florian is physical and brings an in-your-face attitude, while Roy’s game is more skills-based.
but if he isn’t skilled enough to make it in the habs’ top 6, then it gets more complicated for Roy to stand out, playing with less skilled players… it isn’t necessarily due to a lack of heart or emotion. my 2 cents anyway.

personally I think if Roy can’t play in the top 6, he’s gonna have trouble making the team in MTL, my guess is he’s Laval-bound or to be traded at some point.

it’s in a dystopian future, and a group of guys are forced into a contest to see who can walk the longest. the winner gets whatever he wants, the losers are shot after 3 warnings.
it’s pretty heavy, but great acting, it’s been a while since I’ve seen a movie like that.
They need guys like Wifi Jr and grinders that can play physical. Dont tell me they have too much of that when they get killed by teams like the caps and LA out there.
Slaf and Bolduc have to know their roles on that as well. They are not there to be cutes, we have others guys for that.
same thing goes for Anderson, he needs to bring that physicality to his game on a consistent basis.
