Not surprising they want to talk contract extension now.

Molson likely wants to lock them up fast.

yup, and on both sides I think the interest is there, for Molson because he’s obviously satisfied with what has been accomplished so far, and for Gorton. and Hughes because they surely have their eyes on the prize right now, and they want to finish the job and bring this team to the promised land.

    They deserve it.

for sure, I was just under the assumption that they had longer term deals, because it was obvious at this point in time the job wouldn’t be done yet.

I guess Molson kept it shorter in case it turned into an unexpected clusterfuck…

also it looks like I can’t include gifs when quoting a message for some reason.

According to multiple sources, the Canadiens are in talks to extend Jeff Gorton and Kent Hughes contracts.

    were their contracts already up..?

Oh, the league has already gave him the green flag. I knew it would come, like Ive said a few days before.

yeah I was waiting for you to say something about it
    ????

I’m surprised they allowed those players to come back, but hey, good for them I guess.

He will have more way more options than what you guys think, if the NHL let him back in.

He is only 27, has experience as an NHL starter and has talent. A lot of teams have garbage in front of their net.

Its not the Oilers or nothing. Far from it.

I wasn’t saying the oilers or flyers would be his only options, there might be more teams that show interest, but the fact remains he hasn’t played in quite some time, and he was also inconsistent with his performances even before the whole Team Canada thing happened, so it isn’t a guarantee that it’s gonna work out for him either.

Likely sign 1 year league minimum.

And then see what he can get next off season.

sounds about right, would be silly to offer him a multi-year deal at this point, although it does kinda sound like something the oilers would do lol.

I read no canadian team for him, which would make sense with the Team Canada story.

Maybe he would change his mind for the Oilers and a chance at the cup.

I figure Hart would be willing to play pretty much anywhere if it means he gets a chance again to play in the NHL, it’s more about teams determining if signing him is worth the criticism they’ll receive if they offer him a contract imho.

    Oilers I think

I don’t know how rusty Hart will be but they need a goalie for sure as well.

Some news today: Philadelphia will be trading Ivan Fedotov to Columbus

Blue Jackets have been looking to add a goalie, now they have another

on October 15th the Flyers will probably announce they have signed Carter Hart.

It’s just one game but…. I hoped to see more from Reinbacher.

yeah, he looked bad on a couple of plays but I think he’ll be fine if he stays healthy.

Engstrom didn’t look too shabby out there either.

His line with Baby-Wifi and Kap looked really good out there (at least, the part of the game I could watch, when not pulled away by work).

yup, their line dominated most of the time they were on the ice.

Fowler should’ve played the whole 60 minutes imho, but they switched mid-game while the jets had this DiVincentiis kid for the whole game, and he made some pretty damn good saves to keep his team in it, not that the score matters.

Dryden was drafted fourteenth overall by the Boston Bruins in the 1964 NHL amateur draft. Days later, on June 28, the Bruins traded Dryden, along with Alex Campbell, to the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for Paul Reid and Guy Allen. Dryden was told by his agent that he had been drafted by the Canadiens and did not find out until the mid-1970s that he had been drafted by the Bruins

that is so messed up lol.
