When was Nylander nominated for the Selke, faced 1st line competition 5v5 and scored at a 100 point per 82 game pace?

    Oh right, never.

Did Nylander score a GWG and have a primary assist on a GWG vs Florida?

OK, let’s discuss this. Has Marner ever scored 40 goals? Has Marner won any hardware in the NHL, like Matthews? So why is Marner wanting Matthews money and millions more than Nylander? I know the Cap is going up, but we heard this before, then Covid hit? Did Marner take a hometown discount back then? No. He squeezed every dollar out of the Leafs and he’s doing it again. On the primary assist in Game 6, vs Florida, that little shovel pass wasn’t a spectacular play. He was trying to not get hit and just chipped it straight towards Matthews. That goal was a soft goal and shouldn’t have went in. On Willy, I’m not impressed with him either. The difference is, he’s under contract and Marner is not. If I had my druthers, I’d move both of these soft primadonna’s. At least you could shore up with cap money in free agency, plus gain some futures as well.

I agree. ABC was showing the finals a year ago. Disney has really gone down in a ball of flames throughout their cable channel subscriptions.

Also Trade Rielly for what ev and sign Ekblad for rough the same $$

This I agree with. He’s the weak link and needs to be exorcised. Get back to 3LD and 3RD. Ekblad fits the 2D hole much nicer than having OEL playing the right side as a lefty. Seems like Treliving is procrastinating right now.

Kraken get Marchment for a 3rd and 4th.

As usual, the Leafs are late to the last supper. Instead of being proactive, they go to an early summer vacation. They better be trying to get something for Marner’s rights or they’re brain dead!

I’m done with the old site. My last ban was the last straw. Criticizing Connor Bedard for not being in the same class as Ovi and Crosby got me a 1 month ban. C’est la vie!

Marner and his mercenary attitude won’t be missed. He’s a manipulating little b!tch! Good riddance. Get players that want to win here. Tavares should not see more than $5M per season on a 2 year deal. Get a good 2C that is defensively sound.

Not sold on McMann. Should be traded for assets. The Marner money should get you two top 6 wingers. Boeser and Ehlers? Shoring up the 3rd pairing on RD is also important. Whatever they can get in exchange for Rielly, they should do so.

the NHL doesn’t doesn’t care about this. It’s moot point as the NHL will not fix this.

It’s a shame. It’s not just the Canadian teams that suffer, but the Rangers, Isles, Devils, etc, play in Blue, overtaxed states. Bettman is a clown, to allow this to continue. He’d rather do fellatio on the new bidder for the Atlanta Stars and Bars, than fix this inequity and keep another Canadian franchise from gaining entry into the NHL. He needs to leave now!

The Division of Death, the Atlantic, is the toughest division in hockey. Even the bottom-feeder teams are tough outs. 5 teams got in and all 5 played hard. It’s why it’s so hard to get to the finals, if you’re in the Atlantic. Leafs still have an opportunity to get there, but only about 2 years to achieve it. Montreal, Ottawa, Detroit and even Buffalo are improved and could get in next year. Tampa, Toronto and Florida are still the class, but not for long. Time to get the draft and free agency dealt with and see where the Leafs are positioned at the end of the 25-26 season.

The Corey Perry curse lives on!

Appears so. Maybe it’s time to head back to Halleybury and retire. He’s got his silverware and a great career. It’s just time.

As much as I hate to say this, but Edmonton not scoring does not get any excuse. Even when Hyman is done you still have enough character to open up the ice for McDavid and Draisaitl, and if those two aren’t scoring the problem is coaching.

10 players are non stop physical bombs while 2 players are offensive. Why is that not being attempted at this point?

Sounds familiar? We saw this in round 2. Oh, for one of those breakaways going in during overtime in Game 3. Reminds me of Matt Frattin in Game 7 against Boston in the Phaneuf/Kessel years. If he scores to make it a 4 goal lead, the Leafs probably win that series and the roster doesn’t get deconstructed.

this is how we quote here right? lol

So, McDavid needs to come alive. The end.

Yeah it needs to be worked out. I’m not sure that they’ve had an official rollout yet, but I read that they just got the go ahead for advertising, so maybe some changes are in the works.

Looks like Edmonton is stone cold dead. Their goaltending has been their undoing for 4 years now, but they don’t seem to fix it. By the time they do, their window will have passed. McDavid’s next contract is a couple of year out and he may decide to leave, if they don’t address their problems in net. Leafs could help them, but they better be ready to anti up and give a top prospect or a first for someone like Stolarz. I think that Woll can carry the ball, for the Leafs. The Leafs seem to have a lot of goaltending prospects coming through the system right now. You have to give something to get something.

Fonts need to be a bit bigger. I know you can fix this yourself, but once you leave the site, you have to reset them again. Looking forward to the transition in the fall. Right now, many fanbases are in summer mode. The Leafs thread seems to be growing, but we need to see the smaller market teams come on board.

Nylander disappeared because he was on a line with Tavares and Holmberg most of the time. Leafs need to also consider moving McMann. Not fast enough for playoff hockey. As a 20 goal scorer with size, he could get you a decent prospect or a second rounder. Guys like McMann are fairly easy to find. Getting prospects is a must, with having no first rounders for 3 years. Time to toughen up and get ready for war in the playoffs. Leafs only have a 2 year window to make it to the finals, before the young and up and coming teams in the Atlantic arrive.
