Solid road W for the Marlies ….
    and
    Fuck This Captcha

The Marlies may be the last hockey team standing, with the Cup possibly being won by Carolina tonight. Let’s hope that Carolina wins it, Marner gets shut out, then Leafs Nation can give a big sigh of relief. It’s been tough on the Leafs Nation, with the Habs getting to round 3 and almost making it to the finals…..a no-no for us Original Six Centurians. Then having to deal with the Mercenary, Marner, possibly winning the Cup and the Conn Smythe. Freddie did us a favor and parachuted out of the crease, so we can put that one to bed as well. OK Jordan Staal…you’re up!

I spend more time fucking around with these ridiculous Captchas than reading or posting on this site. It’s not like it’s a banking site, or moderated for content site, so why give us this bullshit to deal with????

It appears that Carolina’s Captain may steal Mitch Marner’s Conn Smythe trophy. It’s going to take a lot for Vegas to come back in this series. Vegas appears to be grinding down. They’ve played many more playoff games than Carolina and the constant grind of the playoffs is taking it’s toll. I figure Carolina will take them in game 6, probably in overtime. Carolina has out chanced them in this series and the young goaltender seems to be stealing the show. The first 10 minutes of game 6 will tell the story. Vegas will throw everything at them in period 1. If it’s tied or Carolina is ahead, Vegas is toast.

Get IPTV. You’ll see everything you could dream of watching including high school table tennis in 4K.

I’ve been watching ONTV on the computer. It’s not the best quality, but it’ll do in a pinch. I’m an audio/videophile so it would be nice to watch it on my top end television.

One more Carolina goal might put an end to the game tonight.

    I hate Captcha!!!

Marlies/Wolves for the Calder Cup is going to run a week past the NHL playoffs. I don’t know why they’re not going to telecast those games on our Cable sports packages. TSN has 5 channels, Sportsnet 6. They could at least use the Toronto area market to show those games. Of course we get the World Cup stinking up the dial, as well as the dismal Jays. Such a lost opportunity for MLS&E to promote one of their franchises, even if it’s for a week to 10 days only.

it just seems very unlikely they Leafs trade down.
Mckenna is going to go #1, and be a nice playmaker for the Leafs which is something they lost when Marner rode his donkey out of town

I’m guessing that will be the case. It’s why the price will be high. Vancouver and Calgary want McKenna for more than his hockey ability. Both want an elite talent, Western Canadian, for marketing purposes. Although the other top prospects have very similar worth, they aren’t local in the eyes of the Western Canadian teams. McKenna will be similar to Marner, but in one difference, he has a bit of a chip on his shoulder, if pushed. Marner never had that. He was all skill with no grit to his game. This is where the two players are different. I think Knies gets dealt before McKenna. With Montreal sniffing around, Chicago might want to take a run at him, but it’ll be costly.

    Captchas are bullshit!

If the Leafs trade down, it will be either Vancouver or Calgary. They won’t trade him to the an Eastern team because that would be a headache for the next 20 years. Chicago might take a run at Knies, but it’ll cost them the 4th overall and either a top prospect or another 1st rounder. Any and all scenario gets you a top prospect and a sweetner that turns into another first rounder later.

    Fuck these annoying captchas.

As iv said before, i think if Mckenna stayed in the WHL, he would have put up silly numbers and had a higher NHLe
going to be fun on draft night

There is really only a couple of scenarios if you move the first pick. Our 1st to Vancouver for pick 3 and a second first (24th overall), this year. It could also be a top draft pick from a year ago. Second Scenario is Calgary. The Flames 1st (6th Overall) and Calgary’s first next year.

If it’s Vancouver, it gives the Leafs a shot at Stenberg, if the Sharks take a defenseman, or the Leafs get the best defenseman in the draft. If it’s Calgary, they still get a shot at one of the top 3 defensemen, or Malhotra slips to 6 and they gain the best Centre in the draft. Either scenario gets you a second first rounder, or a top end prospect.

    Food for thought.

I just saw that the Leafs told McKenna is going 1st overall at this upcoming draft

The question is….which team? If the Leafs make the pick, he’s a Leaf. If the Canucks decide to trade up, then he goes there. They just need to fleece them for another 1st to make that deal, or a top prospect.

I figure that the Oilers will self destruct if they sign Babcock. Stan Bowman is a sleaze merchant, as well. The Oilers are starting to look their age and have major holes to fill. Goaltending is substandard as usual. The defense is rickety, similar to the Leafs. The only difference is the West is substandard compared to the East, after the top 4 teams. Once you get by Colorado, Vegas, Dallas and Minnesota, it starts to thin out quickly. The Oilers can get in by beating up cripple teams. Of course, Anaheim and San Jose are starting to crest upwards. The Kings and Oilers are trending downwards. Having that toxic mix, in Edmonton, will just start the spiral downwards.
