They aren’t rebuilding. I mean they signed a goalie to 12.5 million, they signed a dman for 7 year, they traded for a new captain and hired a win now guy as HC. Besides, they have 3 first rders the next two years. Obviously that’s been forgotten about lol because Genius Chris gets credit for nothing

If they fall out of it, what if they trade Panarin, and then re-signed him? We aren’t in a cap crunch by any means

And you guys have absolutely no patience whatsoever. They had a massive makeover and it will take time to get back to where they were.

What are the hopes for Aspinall? That’s what they need more then anything, is a guy like Laba who they drafted can make noise as a goal scorer. All I know is this kid is putting up massive numbers this year

What the hell are you guys watching this year? They at the very least play for each other. They just cant score enough. Everything else is better this year. You guys are stuck in last year still. Get over it already my god

Let me guess, they really miss Buchnevichs 23 pts? 😂

They really have no choice but to re-sign Panarin

Rangers could afford both guys. Idk why you think they couldn’t. They have an almost an endless amount of cap space with not much out there to spend it on.

Y’all giving up already is typical 🤦 this isn’t an attempt to ruin y’all’s pity party either, carry on, but…

If they can finally make a statement at home and win a bunch there, it’ll be big because they have 8 more home games to road games the rest of the way.

What they need is get and stay healthy. They really haven’t had a full and healthy lineup at all this season. Trocheck was hurt, then Fox and now Miller.

As far as Drury goes, going into this season priority number 1 was to get better defensively and they’ve clearly done that. Manly because of Sullivan and Gavrikov. That’s two positive checks for GMCD. The scoring has taken a hit but seems to be getting a little better as the year is going along and is it his fault these guys can finish? Obviously yes (sarcasm dripping)

If we’re looking ahead to next season I would trade pretty much anything for Jason Robertson, and re-sign Panarin. Stars could be a in a pickle there being to afford him. It will cost one of Perrault laf or Cuylle, Schneider or Morrow and a first but Robertson is a game breaker/wrecker they lack so you have to do that imo. They’re in pretty good shape with the d corp where they should put all the efforts into improving the goal scoring

My two cents. I’ll go crawl back under my positive thinking rock now 🤣

Rangers seem to be playing better as the year goes on. Could be as simple as buying into Sully and what he’s selling, or just more comfortable playing that way. The competitiveness and will and heart is there this year. They’ve just have lost some offense along the way, and that needs to be better

The schedule hit them a little bit, especially that TB game. They’ve played a lot of games so now the schedule eases up some which should help them.

These d corp have been great. Occasional bone head play but a million times better this year. Robertson and Morrow are both looking like NHL regulars, and solid bottom pair guys. Gavrokov is arguably the MVP of this team and you can see why he was a priority. He’s a big time play killer for the opposing team

All in all, they’re in a good place imo…it’ll be dogfight but they seem to care this year where they could sneak in. They need another scorer tho, and Perrault when he’s ready needs to be good.

    Here ya go Brukie:

This team will drive you crazy. The home team is just brutal yet the road team plays what seems like a perfect road game, game in game out.

I read that Perrault needs to add some muscle and body mass before they call him up. Once he is ready I think they can compete for a playoff spot. They need another scoring option somewhere. The secondary scoring is the pits. Raddysh meh. He had one good game. Sheary can’t score. I do like JBrod but I think the Rangers are at their best if he’s on the 4th line

these defensman have been great. All of them. What a difference from last years clusterfrank🤮 it’s really hard to score on them 5 on 5. The PK misses Kreider, as does the PP.

I don’t know what to do with Othmann. I feel like he should play ahead of raddysh on the 4th line. But they need to either trade him or play him here (in the NHL)and finally make a decision on him. He’s prime TDL material for a rental but he needs to gain some sort of value.

Anyway, the last two games is a good team. It just disappears from time to time, especially at home. But all in all the Rangers are good team and the east has really good teams so a little more consistency would be nice

    Brukie…

Imo the rangers will be good enough to finish 3rd in the metro. Washington doesn’t seem to have the same mojo this year. Islanders are good but I think they’ll fade after awhile so that really puts us in a decent position. CBJ is the team to worry about. They could be on our tail all season if they start clicking. Perhaps the flyers. Devils and Canes seem a bit ahead of the rangers still so well what happens at the TDL if the Rangers can beat them. Devils are scary good and are a problem for sure

Anyway, The puck luck has finally turned in our favor. Ironically, the night Trocheck came back. I think we’ve learned just how important Trocheck is on this team. He lengthens the lineup which is what they were really struggling with during the goose egg era.

Overall I think we should be buying in, the Rangers are looking fine (most of time) little loose defensively at times but at least they can out score any issues. Shesty had a terrible 1st period, but he really locked it down after that. That was a solid 40 minutes.

    Some random thoughts in guys:

Laf- is maybe, finally, could it be, “arriving”, and at the right time. He looks awesome last few games

Perrault- looked a step slower tonight. Maybe it’s natural just hope they don’t send him down again

Laba- same could be said for Laba. He still looks like a player without a doubt. That was draft pick that should age very well

Cuylle- really playing well. He is the Kreider replacement on the PP. He should be the captain when Miller is gone eventually

That’s my two cents. Miss the daily hourly minute by minute banter like the old days

Point 5 is the main reason imo. This is the tonic they needed. The lines/forwards are much more imposing now for a variety of reasons.

The 3rd line has the makings of something very special. Cuylle and Laba complement each other every well with the style they both play. I agree I’d rather see Raddysh there over Sheary, but I’d prefer someone else completely. Maybe Othmann gets a look again, but to me that where they need an upgrade now. 3RW.

What about a small trade, Othmann for Colangelo (from Anaheim). He seems to need a change of scenery like Othmann does. He could fit nicely on the 3rd line, and is a natural RW. Being 6’2, 205 fits aswell, and a Massachusetts kid

These splits are the strangest time I can ever remember. Only thing I can come up with is they get frustrated when get behind, or saved non stop, that they start pressing and lose their way/structure. Where on the road they’re loose and confident. Like they look for the perfect play instead letting their instincts take over during these home games.

It has to end tonight. It just had to 🤬

Trocheck and Perrault should help where the lineup doesn’t have close to seven 4th liners playing

The road team we see vs the home team we see is very strange. It’s like two completely different groups of players lol

Trocheck coming back will help alot. That’s probably what they really miss, offensively. He really makes the lineup whole and

Laba is just a godsend. What a draft pick steal he was (4th rd). He does everything well and seems to banger better every game

Nice to see Laf produce some offense. He’s been really irritating this season (not just him)

The fact that they’re doing that well defensively is crazy after last season. I think the SJ and Calgary game were the only two games where that wasn’t the case. If they could’ve scored more early on they’d be well above .500

It’s a long season but I’m really impressed by a bunch of things, disappointed in some things and surprised by a few things.

They’re are on the right track which is a good thing back to being a good team. Sorry Brukie but they really are

This forward group is pretty good with Trocheck and Perrault in it

    Panarin Miller Mika
    Cuylle Laba Laf
    Perrault Trocheck Raddysh
    Edstrom Carrick Sheary (probably)
    JBrod/Parsinen

Kinda just holding the fort til then and more offense will come imo

They jusy gave up like 8 shots for an entire game. Boom 180. A straight up genius at work right there

Buying in yet? It’s a complete 180 from last year at least. They seem to be a bit snakebit still

Tomorrow will be a good litmus test
