Leafs have just finished a historically bad home stretch and now they go on the road (where they suck) for a bunch of games against a bunch of teams that they should easily beat. The media and most loyal followers have given up on them. So you know what the Leafs are going to do? Go on a heater. Because Leafs.

Woll was better than Stolarz, Florida would have ripped him to shreds knowing all his weaknesses (anything 2 feet off the ice). Look at him this year; garbage and injured. That had nothing to do with losing the series. Tavares, Nylander, Rielly and Carlo lost the series. Offensively disappeared after Game 3 and got defensively destroyed the entire series, constantly giving the Panthers 2nd and 3rd line free, easy goals.

They signed Tanev to a Robidas / Muzzin contract when he was over 35. That’s retarded management. It was literally a matter of time before he got hurt. Matthews was hurt last year. How many drafted players do the above teams have on their current roster that they drafted? Florida 7 maybe, 2 or 3 are real impact players. Vegas 3? They were gifted a good team and extra picks and traded for everyone. All the teams above have traded away many of their first rounders over the years for high impact players. The leafs simply havent been able to do that and when it does occur, they rarely keep the player or they disappear to injuries.
The leafs problem is they paid marner and matthews simply too much in the beginning which has screwed them for years. Now they put money into other players who simply arent good either. Its poor cap allocation and asset management.
Vegas and florida had depth because they were greatly over the cap when they won.Florida and Vegas never let their draft capital go to waste like the Leafs did. They also drafted high quality players that had value to trade unlike the Leafs who draft pylons in the non-lottery 1st round and trade them for pennies on the dollar years down the road. When Florida or Vegas traded draft capital or young players, they got fair value in return and retained their acquisitions. Those contenders and champions won more trades than they lost. They also didn’t lose assets for nothing or for less than they were worth. Unlike the retarded Leafs, Colorado welcomed Kadri as a depth player and won a Cup. The Leafs, with brainwashed retards like you in full support, threw away their complimentary players. The overpayments started after Tavares. They set the new bar that high. They did it to themselves. Nothing Florida, Tampa Bay or Vegas did was against the rules despite your bitch ass attempt to pretend they cheated somehow. They learned the CBA and used it to their advantage. The Leafs just weren’t good enough to figure it out or make use of it.
The Leafs have a shit franchise. The only hope this franchise has at on-ice success is to draft itself into success. Build a foundation of players that creates a team good enough (and under team control) that players don’t care about the garbage weather, the absurd taxes, dysfunctional management, the obsessive media and the rabidly retarded fans who will dox you or carjack you.

In hindsight, Dubas was adequate. But I think the entire Shanny era was an unequivocal failure. The way Marner was handled from the start was a disaster, they gave the kid (or his dad) absolute power and got burned in the end.
Wrong again retard. They overpaid Tavares, made him the 2nd highest paid player in the entire NHL and he did nothing for this franchise in the playoffs. Once they overpaid Tavares, they overpaid everybody else after that. They treated Tavares, despite being the absolute worst playoff performer of all the “core” players, like a pajama God and retards like you scapegoated Marner into leaving. Small retarded minds like yours could only spew and repeat what the media, which is owned by the team, created as a narrative of blame on one player whom they were trying to play hardball with after bending over and taking it in the ass financially from Tavares, Nylander and Matthews. Reality has come full circle and now proven that without Marner, Nylander and Matthews are clearly incapable of carrying this team to any kind of success, in fact, the opposite happened, total collapse and failure followed.
