GM’s make mistakes, they certainly did with regards to EP40, hand is dealt move on.
It’s RJ’s problem how to deal with him now whether he’s cool with him floating the rest of his deal out.
Thanks for that. They are definitely running thin in that department, but that department hasn’t been very good anyways.

I’m back in Canada for a couple of months.
OEL was just overpaid with a bad contract. He did okay once he got bought out and moved out of the toxic Vancouver market.
Worst case scenario, let him put in his time with his 50 point pace. Count down the years until he’s gone. Just like Loui Eriksson did he got paid did nothing and rode it out. Same MO.

EP40 has a better start to the season as if that isn’t much to ask for & is moved sooner or later. Future leaves the Canucks with CM & Rossi as top 2C’s maybe one is a poor mans 1C. Cootes 3C Raty as 4C. Rogowski & others to make noise if they develop & push for a C spot. Moving onto wingers therexare more questions than answers. DeBrusk wants out that’s fine. Boeser aging out by the time the boyz can compete for real. Novotny could be a gem. Karlsson more a mid 6 winger if enough depth is realistic. Leki entering the make or break window. Ohgren imo will be a good top 6 3rd wheel. Good reason for optimism on D.
Still need more elite talent a true 1C & top line wingers specifically.
Anything EP40 does over 50 points should be considered a bonus. I expect the same disconnect from his teammates. Hopefully the young players displace him.

I did ignore him last year. I thought he was a great helping the rebuild. If your top centre is producing at his level you can be pretty sure you will lose. I do want a bottom 3 finish again next year and I think another bad year of him leading the way you will finish at the bottom.
Expecting Demko to be injured again pretty much guarantees a bottom 3 team. The young D cannot pick up the slack. The PK still league bottom til major changes get improvement. Canucks would have to outscore most of their problems. Lastly plenty depends on MM & his staff installing systems & a team identity. Add it all up & I expect a bottom 5 or worse.
The right “team identity” should displace EP40.
