I’d say both are pretty accurate.
While I respect going out of the box with the draft, I think not considering McKenna as at LEAST a top 3 pick is… let’s call it bold.
Yeah, I’m more of the mindset that you take the best player available regardless of your needs, but a 6’4″ 210lbs+ RHD is awfully appealing.
Keaton Verhoeff, RHD, 6’4″, 212.
Ethan Belchetz, LW, 6’5″, 230.
Tynan Lawrence, C, 6′, 185.
Chase Reid, RHD, 6’2″, 187.
Is that in order of your preference, or just a list of potential options?

Every time I hear the name Rantanen it reminds me that the biggest mistake Toronto has made in the last 2 years is not trade Mitch the Bitch before his NMC came in. He didn’t want to stay in Toronto because he could not handle the pressure, and then he blocked a trade because well he is a spoiled selfish little C who is afraid of his own shadow. Can’t blame him for being afraid though. He would break if he were ever hit hard.
Man, I would have loved to see this team -Marner and +Rantanen. His compete level would have lit a fire under this team.
That being said, on the Leafs he would have already been suspended 82 games.

It won’t look pretty. Matthews, Nylander, and Rielly will choose where they want to go if they want to go anywhere and that will limit the return coupled with their salary amount which will also limit their return. The leafs will have to take salary back which means they won’t get as many picks/prospects as they would like.
Tbh I’m guessing if anything happens it will be a new coach first, not a blow up.
And rightfully so. This is right out of the Oilers playbook. Team plays like shit, coach loses the room, fire coach, cup final. Granted, I don’t see the team as currently constructed doing much in the playoffs this year, (assuming they make it), but there is still a fuck ton of talent on this team, they just need someone to unlock it. Would be a fantastic statement but terrible for the value of our players for the rebuild so hope it doesn’t go that way.
Need this team to realize it’s time to rebuild, without being a lottery team but still have enough value in the older players to sell off for assets.
