ParticipantWe all knew, (except for you), that this year was going to be a step back while we wait for 97 to arrive July 1, 2026.

You must be joking, right? You think McDavid is going to leave a team he went to the Cup Final TWICE with to join this shit show of a team?
Better yet, why would he come to Toronto when he could also go to Vegas?
Yes, that is precisely what /s means.
But to answer your question, the Oilers made it to back to back Cup Finals because they’re in the shittiest division in the shittiest conference in the league. They also have two of the most clutch players in history, so he could bring that to Toronto and drag us there too.
Hard to go deep in the playoffs when you’re in a division with literal dynasties like Tampa and Florida. Our burden to bear.

ParticipantMr Brown is testing the market. Add 1 Connor now, and another in a year.
WHIPPER
ParticipantWrong. Panthers are going to be the same and the Leafs took them to 7. If they dumped Tavares and Rielly, brought in two-way centers to play 2C and 3C via trade, they could have had a chance.
This team is just going to be stitched together with pieces of scrap held together with chewing gum.

ParticipantGet a load of this idiot.
What kind of load?
Load of
Not load off😉WHIPPER
ParticipantWith Barkov seemingly signing for roughly $6M, the Cats are going to find a way to keep Marchand.
Tell me again how no tax states aren’t a massive advantage?
Get a load of this idiot.
WHIPPER
ParticipantMarchand for 6 years is hilarious.
WHIPPER
ParticipantFuck, Provorov staying in CBUS.
WHIPPER
ParticipantLorentz stays!!!
WHIPPER
ParticipantBig surprise.
Kyper is saying Kadri is coming back to Toronto.
Hyper also said he doesn’t know how Marchand doesn’t wind up with the Leafs, so he’s an idiot.
WHIPPER
ParticipantHe’ll be traded within 3 years
Vegas doesn’t mess around. They know what they want, then get it, then they discard what they’re bored with.
WHIPPER
ParticipantMaybe when Toronto doesn’t have an insane tax rate, that could happen.
Well, look at that, one thing we can actually agree on.
Sorry for your loss.
WHIPPER
ParticipantI would have accepted that in Toronto
1000% I would have too. But he never would have signed that to remain a Leaf, he wanted to cash out. He’s gonna get roasted in Vegas.
WHIPPER
ParticipantAlso, I was lead to believe that sign and trades never happen.
WHIPPER
Participant$12M x 8 isn’t bad. Maybe renege on the trade and keep Marner, lol.
WHIPPER
ParticipantSo they can bring in Roy, a big body who doesn’t use it (less playoff hits than Marner) and can’t actually play center because his FO% sucks (47.7%).
Looking like a wild card, 1st round exit kind of season.
That’s literally the point of my post. Marner decided long ago that he wasn’t going to remain a Leaf, so let’s get it done and over with. We can bitch till we’re blue in the face about how the Leafs mismanaged the situation, but that accomplishes nothing. But you seem like the kinda guy that screams at clouds, so go off.
