should have offered Shaw the LHV job. Flyers were not that good defensively so no huge loss. he was very overrate during his time as a flyer coach.
AV was a winner and leader. Torts was a winner and leader. As now is Rick, who is now the 3rd highest paid head coach in the league. all the better coaches thank your agent.
How many times will we hear flyers “hockey” tomorrow? or he “knows” the fane base. he is “passionate”. every flyer cliché will be used in spades.

I’m pretty much with yes its me. It’s a predictable hire. It’s fine. I think Toc is a fine coach. Sounds like he’s a pretty straight forward guy. No more head-games. Hopefully that’ll be good for Coots. I’d be more excited if we had players like Toc, Richardson, Recchi, Jones, Briere, in their prime, playing on the team than I am with them running the team, but I dont have anything against them. I’d be cool with Recci and Richardson as assistant coaches. It’s not like these guys aren’t qualified NHL coaches.
would have rather went with a young retread who needs a 2nd chance than one with a flat out losing track record; if going the retread route. the dump and chase style puck possession be dammed.
Does anyone really see a path to contention with this current management and player group (current roster and in the system).

** love the clichés. yes hos track record does speak for itself. Rick cares more about the big sack of cash you overpaid to hire him. “Hilf” is another fn fool who has zero business being involved in any hockey role.
Bill do you:
1. See both Fedotov and Kolosov back in the orginization next season? what is the possibility both are not back?
2. LHV question, do you see Parker Gahagen and Makiniemi both back in Lehigh to work with Carson? OR just one or perhaps neither.
3. What goalie at the NHL level do you see the flyers pursuing? Throw out some names.
cant blame tocchet for taking the bag. a lazy underwhelming hire. the GM also doing an underwhelming job.
at this point looking forward to see who they trade for, who they trade out, and free agency. this is the route they are going to take to get back into “contention”
tocchet has been a had coach of 4 incompetent organizations. wonder why no winning or top orginization has ever hired him.
going to go out on a limb, flyers offered the most money. Briere has proven so far to be incompetent.
5 years and 5 million. for a losing coach. he wont even get the same results torts got. let that sink in.
doesnt matter how many years he got , look at the coaching lifespan. especially for the flyers. tocchet has no idea about these junior players and his opinion shouldn’t matter where it concerns the draft.
part of me is 100% happy they made this hire. can watch them spin their wheels for the next 5 years. at least the draft and free agency will be fun as they will do everything in their power to add players to win “now”. comcast loves wasting money on coaches with nothing to show for it.

what is the over/under on the number of clichés Hilf, Jonesy, and Briere use at the press conferance?
With Tocchet being named HC, I believe Frondell will be high up on their draft board. Desoyners and Martone probably will be higher then Hagens. If they want forwards who play more north/south, Hagens is probably the least likely to fit that mold.
Tocchet won’t be here in 3 years when those guys are ready to take off. his hire should have no bearing on who they take.
