It’s one bloody practice. Who cares.
Start him on the 2nd line and he can always move up after a week or so.

My gawd, you never stop whining.

Never said he would be there the entire year. I said the idea of putting McKenna with those two is a terrible idea. Same with the idea of Roslovic being a 1st line player.

But, you, being retarded is clearly too much for you to comprehend.

I should have added..the lines dont mean anything right now, who cares.

I also dont put much stock in who makes it and who doesnt it all changes many times over a season..who starts where on day 1 means jack shit

Terrible idea to put McKenna with Tavares and Nylander. I know he lives with Tavares but that line will be a defensive disaster.

They appear to want to make McKenna “earn it” and his carrot being dangled is playing with Matthews but logically McKenna and Matthews is the only thing that makes sense for both of them.

McKenna needs a center that can defend which is definitely not Tavares and is definitely Matthews. And Matthews needs passes.

Roslovic is Matthews’ buddy from his USNTD days but he fucking sucks. Top line minutes will be wasted on him.

first look at lines, this to me makes a lot of sense to start.
Mccabe/tanev when they played the full season together were one of the top Defensive pairs, hopefully can recapture some of that 2 seasons later

    Knies-Matthews-Roslovic
    McKenna-Tavares-Nylander
    Paul-Sissons-Cowan
    Duhaime-Blueger-Lorentz
    Joshua

    McCabe-Tanev
    OEL-Raddysh
    Andrae-Danford
    Stecher-Blankenburg

so 10-11 mil is the rate now for a 2nd line/ low end 1st liner
in my mind players that used to get 5-8 mil

    fun times

I’m glad the Leafs don’t have that problem this year. Most of their contracts are two years out, and they don’t have to pay those exorbitant prices for unproven talent. It might actually open doors at the trade deadline.

And Daniel Briere did not help things. Players must love him. But if I were a GM, he would surely be on my blacklist.

It’s literally only a matter of time.

When a team is bad and has 25 million in cap space or is 20 million below the cap floor, they will eventually grossly overpay to acquire talent. This is exactly why the NHLPA wanted a cap floor when they created the salary cap.

Cap ceiling goes up, cap floor goes up, player salaries go up.

It was always crucial to draft well and that will not change. The three years of ELC and the RFA years is where teams get the best value.
