Sunday is the big waiver wire day. Monday is roster set. Sunday is probably the day they claim.
Remember, the player has to be able to stick on the NHL roster and bump someone. If they try and send him down, the team that lost him gets first claim on him… and the 1st claim status would be completely wasted.
On Mancini he is like so many that bust when it’s hockey IQ deficiency. He has one choice only turn into a video room mega nerd wattch his tape & compare it watching others. Then & maybe then he’ll learn about decision making skills. If not he’s at best a career AHLer.
As for the waiver wire depth D preferably RH. Kudryavsev imo looks to be solid & reliable for depth D. Is there any rule on waiver pickups if keep so long then can be waived or traded?

Yeah, Mancini is a disaster out there. A shame… so big and mobile. He should have focused on being a forward earlier in his career. Maybe he would have a shot in the NHL then.

Kudryavtsev is ahead of him pretty easily. Next up Mynio ahead as well. Problem is both are LH. The need for RHD D depth in the system now or later needs attention. Dupont would be the perfect answer 🤞🤣
Todays cuts…
Ty Mueller, Riley Patterson, Ilya Safonov, Chase Wouters, Kirill Kudryavtsev, and Sawyer Mynio have all been assigned to AHL Abbotsford. Ben Berard and Isaac Belliveau were released from their PTOs and will report to AHL Abbotsford. Trey Fix-Wolansky, Cole Clayton, and Jimmy Schuldt have been placed on waivers for AHL assignment. The following four prospects have been assigned to their respective junior teams: Yaroslav Bryzgalov (Medicine Hat Tigers), Adam Novotný (Peteborough Petes), Brooks Rogowski (Oshawa Generals), and Aleksei Medvedev (London Knights).
Of the junior group of players, only Cootes remains and we all know he’s going pro one way or the other.
Novontny back to junior definitely the right choice. He’s going to dominate I hope. We may see him at season end in Van or Abby.
I used a similar saying when coaching ball. We get beaten we don’t lose games. Big difference. Losing is not giving it your best getting beaten is give them the credit.

Cootes and Baines stepped up in the 3rd. Nice to see. What a rocket by Cootes. Lekker was with them so he got a couple of A’s but he was also a train wreck at times.
My money is on them grabbing a young goalie that is a upgrade on Tolopilo. He’s been ok but with Demko out, they are thin. Tolo will make it through waivers if they push him during the big AHL traffic jam. If not, they still upgraded.
This would also open up the possibility of trading Lankinen if Demko comes back and stays healthy… or trade Demko in the TDL/Summer.
