I know, but I still enjoy the Jays and the playoff
But yes far less then back then
Growing up, I loved baseball so much. When I was 7-8-9, I would watch every game that was on the small black and white TV in my room and use my tape recorder of me doing play-by-play of the game… then listening to that the next day, while reading the boxscores and game stories in the paper.
From the age of 9 to 12-13, I would take the bus from the West Island to the Big Owe to watch games with a few buddies – $1 bleacher seats, $1.50 for a hot dog, pop and bag of chips.
I could do that twice a week on my allowance.
When I was in school in University at Michigan, I use to go to Tigers games because I missed baseball games so much (those upper bleachers at old Tiger’s stadium sucked, no backs, just benches, first come first served, but still fun).
1994 broke my heart.
Spring Training of ’95 when they traded their best players (or let them walk) disgusted me – I know it was not Kevin Malone’s fault, but those daily press conferences were like a vice clamping my heart. Side note: if I ever see his face in person I will punch it.
Never watched a game of baseball after the last game in August… if I recall, a loss to the Pirates.
Baseball can die.
