ParticipantWILL THESE LEAFS BE HEROS OR ZEROS? – Scabby
Depends on which hole of the current golf course you are inquiring about?
I figure the Habs and Captain Motorbike Boy and his crew are deep into the back 9 so Captain Underpants and the Leafs are probably at the turn by now……

The boys are already back to work at the training facility.
Except this weekend of course, where they will get stupidly drunk during the Grand Prix.

Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuure they are hard at work at the ‘training facility’ if that place is a nice patio in Montreal and back to work = 12 oz curls.
I’ve been in Montreal in the summer time……the only thing working hard is guys eyes and necks with the warm weather and sundresses a plenty!

That’s a good move for both him and his family. There are some fans that detest him, and he would get caved in by fans and media alike if he signed a 12.5+, 8 year deal with the Leafs and failed to bring it in the playoffs again. It would also be a distraction for the rest of the team as well. Moving on from each other is good for BOTH of them. Just, as long as the Leafs spend that cap space wisely, IMO.

I don’t want Marchand as a Leaf ever because I have zero respect for him. I also would prefer they find the next Bennett / Marchand if they can vs grabbing one with an expiry date that is VERY soon IMO (Marchand) BUT re-upping JT and getting Marchand combined for close to or even less than Marner will get elsewhere would be a bit funny.
I am now reading and hearing non-stop that Marner’s camp outright refused to engage in conversations all season about an extension and same after the playoffs ended.
If true it sounds like Marner’s camp decided they weren’t coming back regardless and who knows when they made that decision (if true) but there is so much talk it’s hard to sift through what is the truth is and what’s just fabricated BS.
One day a long time from now I’m sure it will come out – much like Cujo expressed his regret for leaving Toronto to go to Detroit in his book & in interviews since then.

ParticipantI agree with Cush about Marchand. I know this is a hot take for some, but the guy is garbage and should have been banned from the league a long time ago. Or, if not banned, then disciplined more heavily for his dangerous dirty plays. I won’t call it anything other than that. Shenanigans, agitating, or antics downplays what he does. Just calling it “being a shit disturber” minimizes how reckless and unprofessional his bullshit is. It’s just pure luck that he hasn’t ended somebody’s career. And the dude is a coward. I’d have more respect for him if he would take a beatdown for his shit, but he won’t even drop the gloves. He just skates away with that fucking smirk on his face that has to be one of the most punchable things I have ever laid sober eyes on. Fuck that guy, fuck his mother, and fuck the horse he rode in on.

ParticipantGood to see Cujo admit that leaving Toronto was a mistake. Maybe things would have been a lot different if he had stayed. We’ll never know.

It would be fantastic to have players like Bennett and Marchand on the team but they’re not leaving. And they wouldn’t come for the correct amount or the correct number of years if they did.
You have to find the next ones, which I’ve been saying for years. But those are the guys you hate to play against but love to have on your team. Like Corson, Tucker, Roberts, Markov etc. We had our era of dirty, shit disturbers too. Every single Leafs fan loved every second of it. You’d be stupid not to take those types of guys because of their “history” or “reputation”. Leafs once signed Peca even after Tucker wrecked him. They were fine.

Cujo was always very overrated because he was fun to watch but not as effective as he was popular. He would make easy saves look difficult mostly because he was lost in his net most of the time. It was a romantic period where the Leafs were going deep in the playoffs but he wasn’t as good as he was popular. I remember him being sub-par (at times awful) vs the Sabres, even getting out played by a rookie Dwayne Roloson when Hasek missed games. Even with the best goalie at the time out of the game, Cujo and the Leafs still crumbled to a bunch of nobodies. When he was given the net for Team Canada, he lost it quickly for good reason and was never the best goalie of his era. And when he took off, his replacement, Ed Belfour, was the best goalie the Leafs had since expansion whom had the Leafs had in his prime, probably would have gone further. Meanwhile, Cujo crumbled behind one of the best teams ever assembled because he wasn’t capable of just being calm in his net. Maybe that was his self-admitted ego / arrogance getting the best of him but if he had stayed with Toronto, they would have been no better off.

ParticipantYall clowns can have each other. I’m out. It’s been real, but I’m moving on from sports. Sports is for fucking retards and I’m tired of being a braindead retard. Some of you are OK and I wish you well. The rest of you can fuck off into the Sun – fucks like you are what’s wrong with this world. Now go back to having deep discussions about shallow shit that doesn’t matter.

ParticipantIt’s looking JT will beat the CRA in the taxable bonus case.
It would be funny if JT went after the CRA for his lawyers fees and +. -
